Georgetown White Coffee

1st day of 2009~ -faMily day-

Since ‘Super-Komtar’ has re-opened for couple of weeks d…

I missed to join mummy them to visit there on their 1st day opening… Stewpig and I persuading them to go again on this public holiday…
It is now named as PACIFIC… the concept and deco is so KOMTAR… the first step at the complex, let us recalled back the memories we had at Super Komtar during our childhood…

Coincidently, M60 is having high-tea gathering at GeorgeTown White Coffee.. as Singh was coming back for a very short break from S’pore… Stewpig and I dropped by to meet them…

The deco is comfy.. mainly because of the wide space… and the window view of the sky out there…
When we first looked at the menu… we were impressed from the varieties of foods… double-up the foods that offering at Old Town… thus, I suggested daddy them to spend the tea time at here…

I ordered the Georgetown White Coffee while Stewpig ordered the Georgetown Heritage White Coffee (Iced)..
The waitress told us the diff between them is just the Heritage one turned up to be more creamy…

Something I like about their toast, is that they do offer wholemeal toast !!
They served the kaya/ butter separately at the side, so that the customer could put on them at preferred portion…

Linna tried the Apollo toast with Kaya & Butter.. the bun has been cut into half, slightly toast until golden brown… crispy at the side… soft in the middle… Yum !! They sell Ice Cream Apollo toast too~
Stewpig and I have been attracted by the TeowChew Porridge Set
Though it ain’t any special meal, but we really like this type of porridge… no doubt it was nice..
The porridge is quite watery, but with nice fragrance… Ikan bilis is crispy and nice in taste… marinated choy sum is nice and chewy, the black bean fish taste not bad but a bit dryer… overall, it is nice !
the set costs RM 9.90, but with big portion...

The Char Koay Teow (RM 8.90) is delicious… the texture of the koay teow is so nice and soft… won’t be sticky at all.. the "wok-hei" is good enough to make the dish reached the right flavor… although it is quite pricy compared to the hawkers out there, the portion is huge enough for sharing…

We also ordered the Hainanese Fried Bee Hoon… from the choices of Mee/ Bee Hoon or Koay Teow… it is something like Hokkien Char… daddy said the difference between them is Hainanese style has more gravy while hokkien char is dryer… they won’t serve the Sambal unless we ask for it… mild or spicy are available for your liking… disappointed that they are not the Belacan Sambal… but it doesn’t taste bad anyway…

From the menu, the pic of Hokkien Mee is so tempting… I would want to try it during my next visit… as well as the Jawa Mee… they also offering a list of desserts, such as Bor Bor Car Car, red/green bean soup, Ais Kacang, Chendol and etc…
According to Mung, their Soya Bean is very nice too…

Out of the menu, I saw a varieties of cakes are available at the bar…

Even Stewpig whom is an anti-OldTown consumer… does like here too… satisfy with the place, foods and services…
We reckon Georgetown should be franchising to other states too as it is something about Penang… je je likes their concept to hang up the poster of Francis Light at the main entrance and also some histories about Penang…
there is now an Old-Town for Ipoh and Georgetown for Penang d…

I forced him to take this photo... haha.. to show his satisfaction to Georgetown Coffee!! he he
guess he would kill me when he known I've posted up this pic! :P
