Lily's Kitchen Vegetarian Restaurant

Lily's Kitchen Vegetarian Restaurant, I can't recall wut'z the road name... tried to ask my sis.. n she told me... ' Telekom Road ' wut da...?

but I think this is not a bad idea to descride itz location... after turned into the Bata House.. along the way to the Telekom... this shop is at your left..

This restaurant is running by my fren's mum/ mum's fren/ cousin's ex-neighbour... argh.. wutever... Auntie Molly, is what I used to address her... she and my fren are vegetarian since my fren was in primary... reason being that was kinda funny.. I dun think this is good to disclose pplz privacy here... thus, I would keep it to myself... :P

Auntie Molly always cooked us nice foods when I stayed over at my cousin's last time... I love her Jawa Mee to bitz... oh my... I can have 3 bowls in a row~!! imagine..!

Previously, auntie Molly was helping out at the Corner Vegetarian Restaurant at the conjunction of Tiong Lor and Lorong Selamat... I always thought she was the owner for that... until recently mum told me... she was just helping out there... that restaurant is belongs to some organization or something like that..

Lily's Kitchen doesn't sell those economic rice like others do... but has the set Menu.. like western food or hawkers...

Black-Pepper Steak w Mash Potatoes and Side Salad...
the sauce is tasty... won't be too spicy but just nice... *Recommended
Vegetarian Satay~ yum yum yum...
Fish & Chips w side salad..
there're 2 pieces for each serving... the 'fish-fillet' bottomed with a slice of seaweed... quite nice... but I would prefer the black-pepper steak... since this is a bit dry for me...
Fish & Tofu Bee Hoon Soup..
this is nice.. the soup is well-flavoured... the ShangHai Vegie made the soup become slightly sour... the fried fish-cutlet taste not bad... something diff from the normal fish beehoon soup...
Ma La Noodles... as wut it called... numb HOT! just normal.. not for my liking...
Vegetarian Duck~ itz crispy... I hate those places served unfresh one.. very sawgy...euw~
Vegetarian Sar Hor Fun....
according to daddy & stewpig, this is quite nice... hor fun is way far to be in my fav list... thus, no comment...
Wan Tan MEE !! oh.. imagine, my bro will drop by this rest everyday.. I meant everyday from Mon to Fri during the vegetarian period.. just for this ! lunch or dinner... no doubt this is really nice... the texture of the noodle is firm & springy... the sauce won't be too salty.. everything is just so yum yum~ ^^
Lamb Rendang Pita Bread...
inside the pocket, there're cucumber & carrot slices... The lamb rendang curry is OK hot...
but my fav vegetarian lamb rendang still goes to the one opposite Lam Wah Hospital~ oh my...
Green Curry Fish on Rice...
Vegeratian Curry Mee.... according to ko ko.. this is quite nice too.. he always placed 2 orders each time he visits this restaurant... itz either Curry mee and Wan Tan mee or Hokkien Mee and Wan Tan Mee.... wutsoever... W.T. Mee is a must for him d...

Olive Spring Guest House & Rainforest Bakery @ Chulia St

been cio'ing to have breaky at Olive Spring Guest House for so long.. finally we were here today... but just 3 of us...
I reckon their style is kinda Aussie... while reading over the Menu... the foods offering are so familiar.. like those in Aussie Breaky Menu.. hehe..
I was so excited while seeing the Homemade Yogurt with Fruits, Muesli, Porridge, Pancake and last but not least..
the main character goes to... "Sandwiches"
besides, they do have some western foods like burger, chix chop, meatball pasta as well as Asian cuisine as well...
this Guest House is owned by the Owner of Rainforest Bakery... both the shops are linked.. they're owned by a Twin Brothers.. so coincidently, they're my bro's frens... I only found out this last week...
As a starter of the day.. we ordered a Mushroom soup for sharing..
the owner being so honest.. when we asked him which soup does he recommend (there are a variety of soups available... ) he just told us, actually their soups are nothing special.. just like normal.. it depends...
as told.. the soup is rily so so nia.. I doubted they use the Canned-Soup... kinda clear.. ain't taste bad.. just like how he said.. taste OK...

Mung ordered the Mushroom & Cheese Omelette...

it comes with 2 slices of homemade wholemeal toast...
I ordered this for Stewpig... Open Sandwich w Bacon, Onion and Cheese...
he chosen the multigrain-wheat-roll.. (there's a name for it.. but I can't recall ) slightly toasted...so nice ! just a splash of grounded-black-pepper and some salt on top of it will certainly bring out the aroma to the peak...

something special in da house...
Baked Bean & Cheese Baked Potatoes... there are choices of, Bacon & Cheese/ Ham & Cheese/ Tuna and etc... (they named it dunno 'Potato Bucket' or sumthing like that... )
they first boiled the potatoes till half-cooked.. then add on the other ingredients and baked it !
mah all-tym-fav-Baked-Beans... so yummy yummy~ ^^

Fresh-squeeze Pineapple Juice, with no sugar added... there's a combo Juice which has no water and sugar added... wholly pure... !!
in Aussie... all the juices are with no water, no Ice & no sugar/ syrup... they tend to squeeze the fruits until the glass is filled... can imagine how many carrots do they use to fill up a glass of Carrot Juice...? I meant the giant size of glass.. not the Asian-tiny-glasses like those used in kopitiam.. the answer is MANY... I miss that !

TUBORG !! the latest-fav-beer of stewpig & I...
she is so enjoying... hmmm...
one of my Fav-Bakery... Rainforest Bakery, next to this guest house...
they sell healthy bread... they don't offer that many varieties as Continental does...
if anyone after healthy bread like multigrain with pumpkin sead, Dark Rye, sour dough.. n etc etc...

I like their muffin... available everyday... the left one is Plum and the right one is Raisin...
this is the only Cookies available there... crazie-Nice... I let everyone to take a bite.. all of em also like it...
itz like exactly a multigrain pumpkin seeds bread.. just the texture is harder like a biscuit should be...
and it is expensive... costs me RM3.80/ piece... but definitely wOrth a try !!

Hooi Ki Steamboat @ BM

after lunch with colleagues, Kurt & I met up my family at Jusco... the huge-but-nothing-newly-shopping-complex... we didn't stay there for long.. the weak phone coverage is driving us crazie... since it is sO hUge... apparently, people gonna get lost very easily... and da stewpig coverage is so weak.. or can say No-at-all at some areas... how on earth do ppl contact each other to find way out..? gOsh~

we then headed to our next destination,
daddy brought us to this most-famous-Ninth-Emporer-Temple in M'sia...
no doubt pure the outlook is utterly impressive... itz magnificient design is just So Grand...

In order to show our respect, we didn't do prayer that day.. since none of us was on vegetarian, the Ninth mth Lunar year festival was going to begin on the day after this...
Instead, we had a eye-sight-tour around the temple...

look at the splendid structures... every single corner in the temple is so Amazing...

G-R-A-N-D is the wOrd !!

our last destination, has come to this famous-steamboat-place... HOOI KI Steamboat
Linna & Sam brought purposely traveled from Pg to here just to meet us up for dinner at here..
the soup nor ingredients are not any special...
According to Linna, this shop was once from a little shop and now been extended to 4 shops in a row...
only 2 soups available.. the common one - Clear or TomYam..
the ingredients are fixed... you can BYO.. but will have extra charge of dunnohowmuch...
Fried Maggie...

the steamboat is the traditional one... using the charcoal instead of electricity..

Ko ko and I just sat aside and watched them eating... since we were started to clear our meaty
-tummy and be prepared for our Ninth Mth Vegetarian...
According to stewpig... the steamboat is nice... it is normal... simple & nice...
see this guy so enjoying his Kurtie-Tomyam-Prawn-Glassnoodle...
and this handsome-cutie was laughing at the other end...

Ong Cheng Huat Seafood @ Permatang Pauh

28th Sept, Sunday...
Eve has been telling me bout a makan spot at Permatang Pauh offering nice fresh pipis, steamed fish and baby chix for quite some times d..
We failed to plan out a time.. probably bcuz of me... since Sunday always my family-day...
finally, we made up our mind and paid there a visit this day...
王清发 Ong Cheng Huat Seafood.. no doubt the foods are so Amazing... everyone was very satisfied... no regret to have traveled so far for it...

guest invited: Eve & Kenny, Raye & bf, TW, Lee, Kurt and kImmie...
( sorrie to miss out, lil puMpking & Owlie~ >.< ) Kurt & I were late, by da time we reached there, all the dishes already ready on the table... so nice of em never touch the food, because they known I will want to take a pic on em... *thx mates~
Fried Shrimp-Fritters...
tho I don't eat prawn.. but it's so crispy till I can't resist myself to have a bite on em... *thumb-up...
Spicy Mantis Prawn... I can't give much comment on this, since I didn't try... but no one has complaint it... so I assumed this is nice.. I guess they first slightly deep-fried the mantis prawn, then fried it with the sweet & spicy sayce with red onion, carrot, shallot & dried chillis...
Stir-fly Pipis... exactly like how Eve told us... Fresh & Juicy... so sweet~~~ ^^
Boiled-Octopus.. no sauce no ingredient.. just boiled it and topped with a splash of deep-fried-minced-Garlic Oil... da bez way to try the real taste of the octopus... the freshness itself explained everything!
Dried Curry Wild-Boar Meat..
most of em not rily like it.. due to itz a bit too salty... Eve claimed that it was too spicy.. as she doesn't like spicy food... the meat is bit tough...
Signatured Steamed Fish...
the fish looked Huge... but actually it was only half side... you can order any size as you like... I saw some tables also having half portion of the fish.. but not in this way.. but the half top or half lower part with tail... if you just wish to have a tiny portion... they do offer fillet too...
the fish is so thick but the meat is not harsh at all, yet it was so juicy and well-flavoured... you can taste the freshness from it...
Soy Sauce Fried Bee-Hoon...
I doubt they specially ordered this for me... it had been arrange to put right in front of me... yes.. everyone knows I like bee-hoon !! ^^
Famous baby Chix...
it's not bird or what... they're baby chic... yum yum~~
after taken the full pic of our LUNCH!! get set... all of us acted so fast... everyone of us was soOooo hungry..
dessert of the day... Deep Fried Ice-cream...
everyone was too fulled... thus, we only ordered 4 pieces and asked em to cut into half each, so that we could share...
muahhaa.. I got a Choc 1~!!! ^^ The others got Yam, Corn and Coffee... it was nice... won't be too oily like some other places...
see what this gay couple do in front of me...? my lao pek has had affair with my kai ka lou.. BETRAYERS !!! T_T

this pic is meant to end this post.... >.<

Trois Canon Cafe @ Chulia Street

Been passing by this cafe for years... always have a thought that ' it can survive for so long, must have some reasons... '  wa...
