DaoRae Korean BBQ Restaurant

Ko Ko noticed this newly opened Korean Restaurant since the 1st week it opened...
finally, we planned out a day and give it a try...

my family favors Korean Cuisine...
we keep searching for any Korean Restaurant which able to beat down our fav 1 in KL...

DaoRae, here we come ~ ^^

luckily, we made a reservation in advanced...
by the time we reached there at 8 ish, we saw a long queue of peoples waiting in and outside the restaurant... *weEee...

we led to a Room at 2nd floor...
I saw a stair to 3rd floor as well.. but not sure if it's for office use...
1st and 2nd floors are decorated with diff concepts..
below here it's the 2nd floor.. with more casual, more family style by sitting on the floor...

As usual, I quickly browsed through the menu...
and placed orders 'on behalf' of everyone... *save time *save energy and of cuz they trust me too... :P

the sources for everyone...
we always claimed that Korean Food uses a lot of dining ware...
imagine, purely the sources, 3 saucers each person,
plus the free-flow side dishes,
BBQ plate and etc etc....
Korean restaurant server ain't a easy job...

豆瓣酱, sesami oil with salt...

right after we placed our orders,
they served us each with a bowl of Korean Seaweed Soup.. free.of.charge
their seaweed is diff with the Japanese type.. but I like it too..
remember my Korean housemates in Aussie told me before, they must drink this soup on their burfday morning!
I couldn't find my pic.. so leave it...
A little bowl of fresh garlic for bbq~
it adds the beautiful aroma for the meats....

Fresh Lettuce to wrap the meats...
initially, Korean Cuisine should be really healthy... as Korean do eat a lot of veggie through out the meal...
but nowadays, many people having wrong mindset saying that Korean Cuisine contains a lot of meat, meat and meat... it sounds so disgusting...
in fact, in Korea, the local eat each little piece of meat wrapping with a big piece of veggie...
us people using the incorrect way, and set the wrong mindset...

their special charcoal, unlike our blackie blackoe type...

my fav part...
he he... free but super yummie side dishes...
Mash potato, Kimchi...
Marinated KimChi, Crispy Glass Noodle ( the white one), big-head bean sprout, Marinated Cucumber and Spinach with sesame seeds...
Surprisingly, the waiter came up with 3 steamed eggs after served the side dishes..
and told us, they're complimentary..
wow cool !!
the steamed egg is so so soft~ ^^

Beef Bulgogi... ( 2 portions )*recommended
Choice thin slices of ribeye marinated with sweet soya sauce...
the spring onion simply made the beef getting tastier...
the 'kitchen fan' ( i dunno wut to call it) is cool and useful,
The extention made it able to pull up and down...
it could really help to adsorb all the smoke and most of the 'smell' away...
eventho we're close with the bbq thingy...
we're not disturbing by the smoke at all...
but of cuz, we still feel 'smelly' while we're out from the restaurant..
of cause, I'm always the healthy one... ^^
A little piece of yummieBeef with a big leaf fresh lettuce...
wrapped and dip with some sauce...
oh my.. heaven ~。~
due to ah yee and linna's parents couldn't take beef, we ordered more porks instead...
Daeji Gal-bi (single portion) *recommended
Choice pork ribs sepcially hand filleted, marinated in special sweet soy sauce
the meats were taken off from pork ribs... served without the 'ribs' only meat...
well-flavoured and really nice...
we ordered for another one after this..
Hanbang Dweji Wang Galbi (2 portions) *recommended
Choice pork ribs specially hand filleted, marinated in special Korean ginseng and herbs extract and sweet soy sauce...
this is very yummie too... but this 1 served with the 'bones, the ribs'
the nice waiter assisted us to cut the big piece of ribs into small pieces...
here are they.... really well flavoured.. and nice !!
Go-chu-jang Sam-kyub-sal
Thin slices of belly port marinated i n Korean traditional chili sauce...
tho it's marinated with chili sauce, but it ain't really hot...
nice in taste too... since it's pork belly apparently the meat would have layers of 'fats'...
but after bbq... the combination is just nice... won't feel any 'oily' but Delicious...
Sam Kei Tang !!
Ginseng Chicken Soup
of cause this is a must-order when having Korean Food...
this is simply Awesome..
this is a lot nicer than Korea Palace...
I never really favor with this.. do drink, do eat, do feel OK... but this I would just Highly Recommend to any potential customers of DaoRae...
the rice is so well-flavoured ( they're some rice stuffed inside the chicken ) and soft..
when we eaten half-way, ah yee reminded me if I've ordered the Korean Pancake for her...
I was like ' oh shit ! I forgot ' :P
just when I wanted to stand up and go out to look for waiter..
2 waiters came in with 3 plates of foods...
guess wut?
they're Pancake !!
We thought they sent to the wrong room, and they just told us, this is
complimentary
as well...
oh no~~~
how delighted was that ?
A big plate ( normal size dining plate ) costs Rm 25 per order...
they gave us 3 of medium sizes, which able to cut into 6 pieces each...
18 in total...
suddenly, a man with the chef attire came in..
and I can recognise him from the pic taken by CK Lam..
he's the CEO of DaoRae..
he just came in to confirm if everything is Okay..
I quickly took a snap of him! :P
another must-order by Koay Family...
Korean Chilli marinated cuttle fish with veggie, served with special noodles...
this is my family no 1 fav dish among Korean Cuisine...
tho I don't eat the cuttle fish.. but I like the chilli paste and veggie so much !!
some restaurants offered Octopus instead of cuttle fish..
DaoRae does have both, but the octopus served without noodles.. that's why we go for this..
this special noodles are very soft and nice...
my family members always 'fight' for it.. the noodles will disappear within second once the plate touched the table... left all the seafood and veggies for those who-are-'slower'...
KimChi Hot Pot (large, rm 70)
thought there're a lot more varieties of hot pot..
like seafood, sausage and etc...
I will sure go for Kimchi no matter how...
it comes with Korean instant noodles, white cabbage, carrots, cucumber, radish, onion, porks, and etc etc.....
the kimchi soup is SO NICE !!
again, this is nicer than Korea Palace !!!
the hot pot placed right in front of me... hence, I couldn't stop drinking the soup !!
ko ko wanted to order some Korean Wine...
and the waiter recommended the Plum Wine...
I tried once in a Japanese Rest which is bigger bottle and diff brand... when I was in Aussie..
I reckon they both tasted slightly different too...
but it's nice..
rm 25 per bottle
the son f-o-r-c-i-n-g the mum to drink !
another free stuff...Watermelon... ^^
to end our deluxe-meals

our table...
the uncountable plates and bowls..
shame to say that this is dunno the how-many-rounds of clearing and refilling d...
by the time we settled the bill already 10 ish... most of the customers have left...
no more crowded like before...
this is the 1st floor...

the CEO a.k.a. Chef suddenly came towards us and required to take a photo with ME
*weEeee... he he
our total bill of the nite is rm 595 +
no doubt their foods are a bit pricey compared to others..
but they are delicious indeed..
and the most important thingy for me is their services..
they hired mostly foreigner staffs...
the one serving us ( the photo on top ) is from Nepal..
they speaks not-bad-English..
and polite enough to become a pro-waiter...
they're so much attentive... they filled up our dishes/ drinks before we asking for...
and they one served us is good looking too~~ he he
I will go back !!
There will be another outlet in Penang, located in Queensbay Mall...
opening soon... let's see
