1st of July

not rily blogging these few weeks...
wasn't in da mood...
thus, my bloggie project gonna delay till further notice...
got da news of little Anya on Saturday nite..
tho we hadn't met her personally before...
yet, we felt so bad for the accident...
when she was in ICU, each of us kept asking ko ko bout her condition every day & nite...
we tot she gonna be good...
till the bad news came on Wed morning...
viewed the journal dat updated by her dad on da day itself...
I felt like crying for her during work...
her photos been flipping over my mind since then...
passed by the church after dinner...
Je and I decided to drop by... to say the first Hello yet the last Good Bye to her...
we know we will regret if we do not do so...
thru out the service, her parents are playing the recorded song that sang by her...
beautiful voice she had...
she is still very beautiful...
I can't believe how would this tragic incident happened to her...
life is just so precious...
I always cherish everyone and everything that around me...
I learnt to appreciate what I have...
sadly say that...
of all I experienced in these 25 yrs...
not everyone understand this concept of living...
but keens to take things for granted...
thanks God that, I have my beloved family be with me since the day I came out from mummy's tummy...
I will take da initiative to submit the form for World Vision tomorrow... which I've filled up since last year... >.<
no more lazy dragging...
I hope those who doesn't really know how to be appreciated...
will realize the theory behind and cherish...
Rest In Peace, Anya...
Good Luck, Kim
-God Bless-

da Kim on 25th June' 2010

went for swimming again alone after few months..
it makes me feel a lot betta...

I missed the time in Aussie, staying at 908...
woke up swimming every morning, (when I wasn't working)
followed by steam-bath.. before kick starting my day...

it makes me feel much more refreshing...
to release, relax and refresh myself...

I know my future home,
must be a condo,
with a huge swimming pool and steambath is a must !

whenever I think of the journey from my house/ office to Penang Swimming Club...
I hesitate to go on... :'(

a busy and confusing week for me...
so many decision awaiting me to have made...
should I insist or should I not...?
I doubt on my bravery...
why must everything comes at once...?

Hidden Nice Char Kuih Teow in Ayer Itam

last year...
we have found a Ho Liao Char Kuih Teow in a corner kopitiam around Ayer Itam...
we used to go there for the Mee Goreng during lunch...
thus, we never notice this char kuih teow stall which only available for breaky...

there was one day,
after we done the prayer for kong kong at Kek Lok Si...
we dropped by there for breaky...

the uncle always keeping the same position, fried non-stop until the last kuih teow is served...

the long-waiting kuih teow comes with 2 big shrimps and a number of cockles ( cheh Ham )

the kuih teow is soft and nice... and conformed Single-layer'
the auntie is always there helping uncle to separate the kuih teow 1 by 1...
as we know most of the time, the kuih teow will stick together and become a think kuih teow with few layers...

it can be Mickey Mouse Kuih Teow and sell in Disneyland too...

the Roti-Roti there are yummi-li-cious...

business is getting really good...
always see lots of people standing around the stall waiting for their take-away...
those dine-in customer keen to order some roti for 'snack' while waiting for the Char Kuih Teow...

Roti Tisu
thinly made, with condensed milk and sugar...
very crispy and nice !

Roti Telur Bawang
I reckon this is much nicer than Roti Telur...
by adding the flavor of onion... yummie !

this is my No.2 favourite after the Tisu...

Roti Sardin

seriously so far I have yet found any Roti Sardine which is nicer than this !
the sardine is a lot ! prepared with thinly sliced onion !!
* highly recommended

Mini Murtabak

I forgot to take picture of my Wan Tan Mee till I started eating it...
so.. expect a not-so-nice pic of it...

in fact, it's very nice...

I just got no idea why the uncle always takes long time to serve the Wan Tan Mee...
I think he enjoys the whole process of preparing the noodles very much... :P

the Mee Goreng and Pasembur at this kopi tiam are well-known for Penangites...
my parents always went there while we were small...
they only available for lunch...
business is always so good...
hence, need to wait for little while before food served...

Mee Rebus

daddy and I love their house special drink

Soursop Juice

sadness is that, they don't have it everyday...
based on your luck...

I like the soursop fruit !

I forced ko ko to do this for me... >.< ( p/s: he was wearing Aaron boy's cap :P )

Corner Kopitiam @ Jalan 4, Ayer Itam
before roundabout to Kek Lok Si / Penang Hill

Yummiest Taiwanese Beef Noodles in 1-Stop ...

ME and familie (including stewpig) always a big fan for Beefie...

talking bout Taiwanese Restaurant in Penang...
my top favourite always go to this old shop in 1-Stop...
I used to go there since Std 6, I supposed...
daddy knows the owner...

they sell the most yummeh Taiwanese Beef Noodles in Penang !!

located at 1st floor, above Bata...

I used to order their Beef Rice Set...
but recently, I just switched to Beef noodles, which is always my dad and je je's favourite...

here are the beef an gravy...

below is the important side dish to enhance the yummie taste of the soup...
Sour-Veggie

the Yummiest Beef Noodles...

with the thick and well-flavoured Beef Soup...
not the clear-soup that many places selling...
plus the super tender beef, Bok Choy, Radish, Carrot, Sour Veggie,
last but not least, their thick but soft noodles...
= AWESOME !!
imagine Mung who hates beef, likes to drink it's soup too !!

this is the chilli they served with the beef noodles...
but we usually will ask for another type of chilli oil which I think is really tasty...

Tempura Prawn Rice Set...

it usually served with the minced pork gravy poured on the rice...
due to mummy particularly hates rice with gravy... they could serve the gravy in a separate bowl...

Nestum Chicken Balls...

je and my favourite....
deep fried, cut half, top with mayonaise and nestum...
very yum~~
*highly recommended

Homemade Eel Roll

they make this daily...
the eel role stuffed with fake crab meat and some veggie, can't rily remember...
*recommended

I love their Bubble Tea very much...
as they don't make it by hand-shake...
but machine-shake.. to caused it got so much Bubble !!
very nice indeed...

plus point is their pearl always well-cooked...
won't come in too hard or too soft...
but with a little sweethen, chewy, yummeh~

the set-meal always come with the daily-cooked-soup...
most of the time, we had the cabbage and carrot soup..

and ended with the Dessert of the Day..

I've tried the Grass Jelly & Fruits with Ice

and the Ai Yu Jelly with Ice

nonetheless, most of the foods are there are delicious...

-shop closed on every Monday-
-served lunch & dinner-

Yummeh Beef Steamboat in Penang, Tanjung Bungah

the reason being I happened to found my previous out-dated blog...
was simply because we re-visited this yummeh steamboat restaurant last nite...
when I was about to link this post to my previous post...
I noticed, the post that I written 2 yrs backed,
was sitting pitifully in my back log...
I supposed I forgot to post it up... *blushes*
ko ko's best buddy came from KL for a short trip during the weekend...
he is the best-makan-mate of Koay family...
we hardly have any chance to let our tummy take short break since Thurs nite... nvm feeling hungry...
we take him as an excuse to go here and there for foods...
since he is a super fans of BEEF...
I suggested to bring him for thie beef steamboat...
pa pa always has the privilege..
to order this Beef Stew in advanced...
this is the-beSt-of-the-beSt... he he...
totally diff with the beef steamboat... but few levels up... :P
(it won't be available to walk-in customer, must order in advanced...)

Fried Noodles and Bee Hoon...
something similar to Hokkien Char..
but more delicious...

teng, teng, teng ,teng...
Beef Steamboat...

beef soup based with, 2 kinds of beef balls, beef cubes, and many other parts of beef...

topped with heaps of coriander and fried onion...
simply bring out the beautiful aroma of the soup... ^^

simple side dishes but they're rather important kei-lei-feh... hehe
bean sprout and some veggie...

sometimes we will order their kuih-teow...
which is thinner than the normal kuih teow, similar like vietnamese pho...
superb to go with the beef soup...

Raw Beef Slices with Raw Egg...

they actually offering delivery nowadays..
during stewpig's burfday on last yr...
I've actually ordered this beef steamboat...
and it turned out everyone enjoyed it very much !!
they deliver to any address as long as you can provide...
not only the ingredients and soup...
but also the pot, bowls, chopsticks, ice and boxes to keep your beef fresh, Gas and even the Cloth !!!
they will go back to you and collect back all stuff the next day of event...
so nice of them even tell you no need to wash the pot and anything after used...
**super good services !! *thumbs up :)
prices are reasonable, and super recommended for those like to eat steamboat but lazy to prepare !!

Kam Kei Beef Steamboat, Tanjung Bungah

** below post was written in 2008, I wonder why it did not been posted up but pending in my backlog for almost 2 yrs... -__-
blog in 2008...
daddy has been telling me bout this beef steamboat since years ago..
said wanna bring me to try out before I headed to Aussie...
but he Did Not !!
after I came back...
I kept nagging him to bring me for that...
11 months later..
finally I got a chance to visit this shop...
Previously, this shop was located at the shop lots next to Waterfall Hotel...
couple of months ago, it moved to Gajah Raod, Tanjung Bungah...
they actually moved to their house, which has a smaller place with fewer tables...
but I think this way could help them to save up a lot of maintanance fees...
no tax, no rental and etc etc...
eventually the price range of the foods gone lower, smarter choice for us, the consumer~
*Winks~
we would have to make reservation before going...
since there're only 4-5 tables available...
and one thing...
due to they've moved their business backed to the house, hence they didn't hang up any sign board for the restaurant...
it took us time to find out the place during our first visit...
this is at No 45 along Jalan Gajah...
call or ring the bell for them to open the gate...
Daddy so smart to buy the Ew Char KOAY for us to go with the yummy yummy soup...

beside, beef steamboat, seafood, tomyam, spicy and chix clear soup based are available too...
we have the Beef MA LA spicy and Beef soup based...

sliced beef with raw egg....

I reckon the beef could go better if they slice it thinner...
must not throw the whole plate of beef slices into the soup at one time...
as the beef cooks fast...
it gonna become not so tender if it's overcooked...
the best timing is medium done...

thus we will cook it slice by slice when we wanna have it...
just few seconds for a slice...

2 ways to have it...
depends on personal liking...

normally people will stir the egg yolk and let it mixed up equally with every beef slice before putting em into the soup...

but it would be nice too, if only dip the egg yolk after the beef is cooked...
as the heat from the meat will eventually half-cooked the egg too...
it gonna make the meat tastes so smooth and tender...

Gong Poh Eel...
one of their house special...
I like this dish...
since I like Unagi so much... he he...
it tasted a little spicy, as it was cooked with dried chilli and loads of spring onion and red onion...
the eel is so fresh!
the gravy tasted so delicious..
a nice dish to go with rice...

here comes stewpig & my fav...
not everyone knows about this dish...
as it has to order At Least 1 day prior your visit...

Beef Stew... 牛腩煲
the gravy beef tasted so tender and well-flavoured...
I guess they stewed it for 24 hours... since they required us to pre-order this dish a day in advanced...
the radish simply boost up the taste...
we couldn't help our soup to keep drinking the gravy soup..
as it is so tasty and amazing in flavor...
some of the radish have already 'melted' and mixed with the soup...
making the soup so thick and nice !

the Eu Char Koay has been a 'gud-partner' to go with this soup!!

imagine eating the eu char kuih which has absorbed the soup...
when you chew on it, the soup simply burst out from the eu char kuih... oh my...
‘triple'-thumbs-up...
he he

free fruits from the house....

747 Cafe, inside YMCA Building...
used to be mah all-tym-favourite since small...

it's still my favourite...
