** below post was written in 2008, I wonder why it did not been posted up but pending in my backlog for almost 2 yrs... -__-
blog in 2008...
daddy has been telling me bout this beef steamboat since years ago..
said wanna bring me to try out before I headed to Aussie...
but he Did Not !!
after I came back...
I kept nagging him to bring me for that...
11 months later..
finally I got a chance to visit this shop...
Previously, this shop was located at the shop lots next to Waterfall Hotel...
couple of months ago, it moved to Gajah Raod, Tanjung Bungah...
they actually moved to their house, which has a smaller place with fewer tables...
but I think this way could help them to save up a lot of maintanance fees...
no tax, no rental and etc etc...
eventually the price range of the foods gone lower, smarter choice for us, the consumer~
*Winks~
we would have to make reservation before going...
since there're only 4-5 tables available...
and one thing...
due to they've moved their business backed to the house, hence they didn't hang up any sign board for the restaurant...
it took us time to find out the place during our first visit...
this is at No 45 along Jalan Gajah...
call or ring the bell for them to open the gate...
beside, beef steamboat, seafood, tomyam, spicy and chix clear soup based are available too...
we have the Beef MA LA spicy and Beef soup based...
sliced beef with raw egg....
I reckon the beef could go better if they slice it thinner...
must not throw the whole plate of beef slices into the soup at one time...
must not throw the whole plate of beef slices into the soup at one time...
as the beef cooks fast...
it gonna become not so tender if it's overcooked...
the best timing is medium done...
thus we will cook it slice by slice when we wanna have it...
just few seconds for a slice...
2 ways to have it...
depends on personal liking...
normally people will stir the egg yolk and let it mixed up equally with every beef slice before putting em into the soup...
but it would be nice too, if only dip the egg yolk after the beef is cooked...
as the heat from the meat will eventually half-cooked the egg too...
Gong Poh Eel...
one of their house special...
I like this dish...
since I like Unagi so much... he he...
it tasted a little spicy, as it was cooked with dried chilli and loads of spring onion and red onion...
the eel is so fresh!
the gravy tasted so delicious..
a nice dish to go with rice...
here comes stewpig & my fav...
not everyone knows about this dish...
as it has to order At Least 1 day prior your visit...
Beef Stew... 牛腩煲
the gravy beef tasted so tender and well-flavoured...
I guess they stewed it for 24 hours... since they required us to pre-order this dish a day in advanced...
the radish simply boost up the taste...
we couldn't help our soup to keep drinking the gravy soup..
as it is so tasty and amazing in flavor...
some of the radish have already 'melted' and mixed with the soup...
making the soup so thick and nice !
the Eu Char Koay has been a 'gud-partner' to go with this soup!!
imagine eating the eu char kuih which has absorbed the soup...
when you chew on it, the soup simply burst out from the eu char kuih... oh my...
‘triple'-thumbs-up...
he he
free fruits from the house....
