Revisited: Cozy in the Rocket

I re-visited Cozy in the Rocket the week right after previous post and another week after...
which means, I went on 3 Saturdays in a row...
from this, you can see how much I love their foods...
BUT
not the services of course...

Lychee Mint...
for those mint lover, this is a must go go...
the mint flavor is very strong...
it's like a non-alcohol mojito... and topped with Giant Lychee...
below pic to show how giant is the size of lychee....
I wonder which brand of can lychee are they using...

Cappucino... rm 10 (not cheap)
the Iced coffee is not that good... hmm.. for me..
but the hot one is okay...

after waited don't know how long...
our foods are served...
for those, who's hunger for foods.. Cozy definitely not a good choice...
it's a normal issue to have 1.5 hrs waiting time just for 2 plates of pasta over here...
want good foods, bear the long waiting time...
I don't mind to wait because I just love it...   :)

during my second visit, I had the Aglio Olio with German Sausages...  rm 23
cooked with olive oil, garlic and chilli flakes... the Parmesan cheese and herbs sprinkle on top simply added more flavors into the dish...
chef has pan-fried the sausages separately...
I like...  :)

I can't recall it's full name...
it's some Tomato paste of Fettuccine with Mussels...  rm 25
the portion of pasta is rather little, served with 5 very fresh mussels...
this is not available all time...
according to Yc, the mussels are super sweet, juicy and fresh !
she deeply falls in love with it after first bite...

Homemade Passion Fruits Panna Cotta, rm 12

Panna cotta (from Italian cooked cream) is an Italian dessert made by simmering togethercreammilk and sugar, mixing this with gelatin, and letting it cool until set.

this is really good though very pricey for such tiny portion...
I'm not a fans of this dessert since I'm not really keen with coconut stuff.. (except fresh coconut drinks)
most of the panna cotta I've tried before is with coconut as part of the ingredient, and made me put in mind that, panna cotta - must have strong coconut taste...
and now I know, it depends, NOT All panna cotta made with coconut...

chef served this with fresh passion fruits, the sour taste of the fruits certainly balance up the sweetness from the dessert...
very nice ! worth trying...

3rd week - 3rd visit...

Banana and Lime Lassi...
the combo sounds weird but taste really good..
the lime makes the beverages becomes quite refreshing...

I had this Fresh Spaghetti with Pork Bacon and Asparagus... rm 25
the Fresh Spaghetti looks more like wan tan mee...
does ' fresh ' means, freshly made upon order placed? I'm not sure...
nice...

Carbonara Spaghetti with Pork Bacon... rm 23
this taste really good !
when I saw the raw egg, immediately I add few points to the dish...
the real and perfect way to cook carbonara is always adding raw eggs towards the end, when the mixed sauce and pasta Off from stove...
the heat from the pasta can just cook the egg perfectly, nicely but not overcooked...

the portion for this dish supposed to be more 'normal', when I see from Eve's blog...
we suspected they are running out of the ingredient when cooking ours, the portion of 2 orders of Carbonara are rather small...
too little to fill our tummy...
but no doubt, it's very yummie...

thanks Jen for the generous treats~  :)

Cozy in the Rocket, Georgetown

new place MUST try out~
spotted this new cafe located at the corner of Armenian and Beach Street...
at first, I thought the name of this new place is La Cucina...
and I just love the flying pig thief at first sight...
but IT's NOT !

Cozy in the Rocket, is the name... (I supposed)

first corner, gate closed...
my face immediately showed a completely   T____T
W-H-Y ???

walked few steps further, the main entrance is actually next door... hehehhe

once stepped in the cafe, spotted this so familiar picture on wall...
do you recall anything from this greenie arrogant doggie with fattie cat?

refer to here

ta-da....
this is the New Amelie Cafe !
known they have moved to nearby, bigger place, but didn't know the exact location and the new opening dates...
and here it is ! woo hoo...

I so super love this place...
alot bigger, great atmosphere, just something I always love...
low cost, recycle, down to earth, are the key points...
again.. for me.. very Aussie feel~  woo hoo  :P

spotted the tau keh niao of Amelie yo~

as usual, there's no Menu but all written on the board...
can order from the bar or backed to your table and someone will follow for order taking...

something cheer me up is this huge professional coffee machine...
no longer the small scale home user coffee machine at the Old Amelie... hehe

varieties flavours of San Pellegrino are available here...
Aussie loves this !

the main shop is Indoor with air-conditioned...
next door is open-aired, for smokers I supposed...

Normal working hours is Tuesday to Sunday, 10am - 5pm (5.30pm), closed on Every Monday...
due to the once-a-year-happening-event on last Saturday, it extended the business hour till 12am...

too bad, I was starving and none of the main meal is available but only beverages, desserts and small bites on that day...

spotted the big professional coffee machine, of course must try on the coffee drinks...
below pic is Iced Caramel and Iced Cappuccino...
hmmm.. so so for my liking...
guess would back to my preferred hot coffee next visit...

for sour-stuff-lovers like me, this is most suitable...
Lemon, Lime and Passion fruits..
so thick and sour sour sour...

I had this chef-recommended Pork Meat Balls with breads... rm 14
this is nice...
we all love it...
the meat ball is tender enough, tomatoes and basil paste is well-flavoured...
overall it's just nice...
worth-trying...

my happy face tells...   :)

Honey and Feta Cheese Bruschetta, rm 14
I love honey, I love Feta Cheese, thus, I'm okay with this but not for everyone...
don't think everyone likes the taste of feta... and it's kinda pricey due to the cheese...

Chef highly recommended Tiramisu... rm 18
this is really something different...
it served in a bowl...
I didn't taste any spongey-texture-short bread, but pieces of dark chocolate, moist, strong coffee aroma from this dessert...
hardly described, as this is very first time I tried such Tiramisu...
I love bitter thus I quite like it, but again, not for everyone, especially those sweet tooth people might not favor this since it's quite bitter when u bitten on the coffee bean sprinkles on top...
but worth a try, really !

though the portion is quite small but recommended for sharing...
it's strong flavored...

Chocolate Brownies with Vanilla Ice Cream..
overall won't be too sweet, but just nice...
I like it...  :)

random picture time~~

my pair...

her pair...

i did not visit Amelie for quite sometimes before it closed down...
by comparing the pricing here vs my last visit to Amelie, I reckon its slight more expensive...
understand that the bossie using all self-chosen, good quality of ingredients for cooking, thus, the cost would definitely be higher compare to others...
as long as it tastes good, I think it's quite worth to pay...
for myself, cuz I love this place...
compare portion + pricing between China House vs Cozy, I think Cozy considers more expensive in term of smaller portion (foods, drinks & desserts...)
hmmm...

Love & Bites Fusion Cuisine

Another newly opened restaurant in the heart of Georgetown...

Located at Nagore Road, between La Mei Zi & Pik Nik... We have the nice ambience eat-out place selling fusion foods...

Today is the 1st day opening ( 29th July' 2012 )... Soft launching to test run... But we already saw numbers of customers walking in... Some knowing from Facebook... Some are just walk-in of random passer-by...
Running by the owners of Chan Brothers... Needless to explain much, famous enough in Penang...

medium space with nice ambiance
specially like the built-in-sofa... lazy person like me... always will grab it before anyone occupied... hehe...
the house playing mostly relaxing Jazz Oldies...
and I love...   :)

walk in further, there are second part of the restaurant which is totally different concept from the front...
I kinda love the concept... the furniture is unique...
but, it gonna slightly hotter if sitting inside here...

They're selling Fusion Cuisine, as the shop's name tells...
from Snacks to Appetizer, Main, Desserts, Beverages, quite a long list of varieties...

they selling several types of Homemade Quiches
I so can't wait to re-visit and try out their Quiches...
I just Love it~~~

they don't have much choices for Coffee... only Mocha / Tiramisu and one-more-which-I-can't-recall...
but few types of special Tea...

I had Aloe Vera Tea, served in Hot / Cold...
get to eat the little pieces of Aloe...
slight sweet but not too sweet... I like it...  :)

I so love it's Heart-handle...~

fren of mine highly recommended their Yogurt Drinks...
and no doubt...
I give them a double-thumbs-up...

it won't be too sweet but just nice...
there's a special one - Mint Yogurt...
I'm not a Mint-person, but I reckon it sounds quite special... heard actually not bad...

Strawberry Yogurt
Papaya Yogurt
Vege & fruits Salad with Pecan Nuts...

 I heart it's heart-shaped-salad-bowl...
so wanted to bring home...
my fren told me, they have lips-shaped-bowl sumore ~!!

Chicken Schnitzel with Japanese Mashed Potatoes and Side Salad in Balsamic Sauce
it's something very different from all the Chic Schnitzel I usually found in Aussie...
used to be big piece of deep fried breaded boneless chicken, cheese melted on top filled with tomato paste + ham slices in between...

on the menu, Chicken or Pork available for your choice...
they served as picture shown, 4 big slices instead...
I supposed they mixed chopped chicken with extra ingredient like herbs, peas / potato maybe and reshape it  before deep fried...
something special from the house apart from the tradition..
it reminds me of Falafel... I believe they might share similar recipe / ingredients   :)

overall, I found it quite nice and speical...
portion might not be fulfilling enough for guy as Main.. but good as a sharing portion among frens...  :)

Vietnamese Paper Rolls
Vietnamese Rice Paper Wrap with Thai Basil, Black Fungus, Cucumber, Pickle Papaya and Shrimp served with Vietnamese Hot Dips and Side salad...
the dipping sauce tastes like Thai Chilli Sauce...

I would suggest those that cant take the aroma of Basil better don't go for it...
like my fren, ordered then reckon it got the Basil leaves that he hates so much...
left the whole plate for us to finish it !

Overall, it's nice and pretty in serving too   :)
so lovely and effort, they even provide small stalk of Lemon Grass to 'spoon' the sauce so too add on more flavor for the dish... *marks added   :)

as mentioned above, they served a varieties of Homemade Quiches...
can pick from the fridge near the counter...  :)

they imported this Japanese Bottled Beer, selling at rm 20++ per bottle...
I yet try out, but heard the feedback is quite not bad...
and not available in most places here in Penang...
shall try out...

funny tiger.. I tot it's a cat !!

Shop named as Love & Bites, you can see a lot of Cupids / Angels deco around the restaurant..

will definitely re-visit for more foods...

Trois Canon Cafe @ Chulia Street

Been passing by this cafe for years... always have a thought that ' it can survive for so long, must have some reasons... '  wa...
