La France Cafe & Restaurant

La France Food stall previously based in Northam Beach Cafe since 2007 has officially 'transformed' to a Restaurant located behind Northam Tower beginning of September...
* congrats to them !

went for lunch with Jes & Mung 3 weeks backed...
was looking forward to try out the Omelette...
when we browsed at their Lunch Menu only we got to know there are TWO types of menu...
*thunderstorm inside   T_T

the Menu Dejeuner (lunch from 12.00 noon onwards) and
Menu Diner (dinner from 6.00pm onwards)

those available in the Lunch Menu, basically the Panini thingy and crepes...

it just right opposite El Casa Restaurant at Jalan Irrawady

allowed customer to Bring Your Own Wine !

the interior is simple...
not the cosy cosy with sofa type..
besides the tables near the bar, there are tables in a room, or at the back with fan and not air-conditioned or high stool + table at outside...

we were the first customer to reach at 12.00pm sharp

Soup of the day - Mushroom Soup , rm 5.90
won't be to milky or creamy, and nice afterall...

Ham & Cheese Croissant

Yogurt Chicken Croissant served with home recipe thinly sliced sauteed potatoes and side salad , rm 10.90

I super like this..
the croissant itself was baked nicely, soft but with crunchy surface...
chicken diced cooked with chopped onion, yogurt cream sauce and cheese on top - Amazing !
and I so in love with the sauteed potatoes !! yum !

Chicken and Cheese Ciabatta with extra Egg on top
the open-ciabatta served in lunch menu is only half...
Mung who hates Ham tot the 'chicken & cheese' is really the pieces of chicken...
who knows, it turned out the chiken Ham as shown...
thus, I gotta change my yogurt chicken to her !

***************************
last nite, we went again for Louise's burfday dinner...
the Dinner Menu comes in longer list...
totally different with Lunch Menu...

Savoury Crepes - Crepes Aux Saumons (Smoked Salmon) , rm 13.90
the smoked salmon been cooked with capsicum, cream and cheese...
the crepes itself is very nice !
it's really yum, but portion might consider too small for a guy...

Toasted Ciabatta - Tuna & Cheese , rm 10.80
the filling is not very much, Tuna with chopped onion, mayonaise, tomatoes and cheese...
but overall the ciabatta is nice...
the bread itself is fresh and toasted nicely...

Omelette with Ham and Cheese served with Handcut Cheese and Side Salads , rm 10.50

no doubt, the omelette is really yummmmm
you can smell the beautiful aroma of the Egg and Chips at the moment the dish served to your table...
the ham were chopped into small pieces and the filled with cheese !

(*the chef uses blue cheese as one of the ingredients to prepare all the cheese dishes)

Omelette with Onion and Cheese , rm 9.50

initially, Mung was ordering Omelette with mushroom and added extra cheese ( +rm1.00 Only)...
unfortunately, the mushroom were out of stock after the boss checked out the whole kitchen...
since she doesn't take ham nor bacon... she goes for Only cheese and requested to add some onion for better taste !

it turned out good as expected...
the cheese is rich !

hand cut chips...
very nice and goes really well with their home recipe Tar Tar Sauce

they use Extra Virgin Olive Oil for our Pasta & Dressing and keep the original Taste of the ingredients, no MSG added!
which i love... I gonna try out their pasta next round !

the foods overall are ok with reasonable price...
but we were not really happee with their services...
not attentive enough and not frenly...
when the clock ticks 10pm, they seemed to hint us leave the shop...

when we asked waiter A to help us take a group pic, he just looked at waiter B and said "I don't take pic for others."
