Love & Bites Fusion Cuisine

Another newly opened restaurant in the heart of Georgetown...

Located at Nagore Road, between La Mei Zi & Pik Nik... We have the nice ambience eat-out place selling fusion foods...

Today is the 1st day opening ( 29th July' 2012 )... Soft launching to test run... But we already saw numbers of customers walking in... Some knowing from Facebook... Some are just walk-in of random passer-by...
Running by the owners of Chan Brothers... Needless to explain much, famous enough in Penang...

medium space with nice ambiance
specially like the built-in-sofa... lazy person like me... always will grab it before anyone occupied... hehe...
the house playing mostly relaxing Jazz Oldies...
and I love...   :)

walk in further, there are second part of the restaurant which is totally different concept from the front...
I kinda love the concept... the furniture is unique...
but, it gonna slightly hotter if sitting inside here...

They're selling Fusion Cuisine, as the shop's name tells...
from Snacks to Appetizer, Main, Desserts, Beverages, quite a long list of varieties...

they selling several types of Homemade Quiches
I so can't wait to re-visit and try out their Quiches...
I just Love it~~~

they don't have much choices for Coffee... only Mocha / Tiramisu and one-more-which-I-can't-recall...
but few types of special Tea...

I had Aloe Vera Tea, served in Hot / Cold...
get to eat the little pieces of Aloe...
slight sweet but not too sweet... I like it...  :)

I so love it's Heart-handle...~

fren of mine highly recommended their Yogurt Drinks...
and no doubt...
I give them a double-thumbs-up...

it won't be too sweet but just nice...
there's a special one - Mint Yogurt...
I'm not a Mint-person, but I reckon it sounds quite special... heard actually not bad...

Strawberry Yogurt
Papaya Yogurt
Vege & fruits Salad with Pecan Nuts...

 I heart it's heart-shaped-salad-bowl...
so wanted to bring home...
my fren told me, they have lips-shaped-bowl sumore ~!!

Chicken Schnitzel with Japanese Mashed Potatoes and Side Salad in Balsamic Sauce
it's something very different from all the Chic Schnitzel I usually found in Aussie...
used to be big piece of deep fried breaded boneless chicken, cheese melted on top filled with tomato paste + ham slices in between...

on the menu, Chicken or Pork available for your choice...
they served as picture shown, 4 big slices instead...
I supposed they mixed chopped chicken with extra ingredient like herbs, peas / potato maybe and reshape it  before deep fried...
something special from the house apart from the tradition..
it reminds me of Falafel... I believe they might share similar recipe / ingredients   :)

overall, I found it quite nice and speical...
portion might not be fulfilling enough for guy as Main.. but good as a sharing portion among frens...  :)

Vietnamese Paper Rolls
Vietnamese Rice Paper Wrap with Thai Basil, Black Fungus, Cucumber, Pickle Papaya and Shrimp served with Vietnamese Hot Dips and Side salad...
the dipping sauce tastes like Thai Chilli Sauce...

I would suggest those that cant take the aroma of Basil better don't go for it...
like my fren, ordered then reckon it got the Basil leaves that he hates so much...
left the whole plate for us to finish it !

Overall, it's nice and pretty in serving too   :)
so lovely and effort, they even provide small stalk of Lemon Grass to 'spoon' the sauce so too add on more flavor for the dish... *marks added   :)

as mentioned above, they served a varieties of Homemade Quiches...
can pick from the fridge near the counter...  :)

they imported this Japanese Bottled Beer, selling at rm 20++ per bottle...
I yet try out, but heard the feedback is quite not bad...
and not available in most places here in Penang...
shall try out...

funny tiger.. I tot it's a cat !!

Shop named as Love & Bites, you can see a lot of Cupids / Angels deco around the restaurant..

will definitely re-visit for more foods...

dinner Celebration at El Casa Wine & Dine

few weeks ago..
20 of us had a wonderful dinner session at El Casa Dine & Wine...

it was the second time I dine-in here...
always knowing it's a cool place with nice ambiance, selling yummie foods with reasonable price...

Raye always told me how nice is the Set Lunch at El Casa...
after looking at the menu.. and I fully agree with above sentence !

the all-day A La Carte menu already priced very reasonably..
but the Set Lunch is way more cheaper !!!

imagine paying less than rm 10 for a Western Food main course + soup + drinks...
think can hardly spot in town nowadays !

*********
Homemade Mushroom Soup - rm 6.90
served with piece of Garlic Bread...
not the wild mushroom type nor super milky creamy type..
but nice afterall....

Fried Calamari (Squid)
Crunchy, fresh and nice...

the dinner was actually a pre-burfday celebration for mrDamien~ ^^

one of the recommended main course, which also available under the Super Saver Set Lunch Menu !

Fish and Chips

served in 2 big pieces of fish fillet, heaps of fine cut fries, bowls of tar tar sauce + vinegar...
very like their house salad... generous portion of mixed veggie, plus homemade special dressing !
Signature Chicken Chop
again, very generous portion, huge piece of boneless chicken, served with steamed rice, and side salad !
Oriental Sauce served aside, you can put as how you like...

Butter Grilled Fish
fresh piece of fillet, served with steamed rice, fine cut fries, steamed veggie

Chicken De El Casa rm 13.90
this was what I had on that nite..
and I super love it... it's a super worthy dish !!!
deep fried huge portion of boneless chicken, topped with melted cheese and Sun Dried Tomatoes...
served with HEAPS of potato wedges... ( I ain't super lover for fries of wedges.. but I seriously love theirs... the wedges definitely more than 15 pieces... crunchy, well-seasoned, good fried !! )
and generous portion of side salad with homemade dressing !!   ** super love **

Homemade Chicken Au Gratin – RM17.90
one of the house signature dish...
cheese baked layer by layer with boneless diced chicken...
recommended for cheese lover...
served with fine cut fries, potato chips and steamed veggie...

Seafood Pasta with Tomato Based
with cuttlefish, shrimps and fish
Spagethi Bolognese with Minced Chicken / Beef
Fresh Squeeze Orange Juice, rm 5.90
Fruits Jelly on-da-house
to end our beautiful dinner

I will definitely pay my 3rd visit...

Lunch Treat at De Title on a Sunday n00n

on a lovely Sunday...
thanks for the invitation from Vin, Qyzzy...
me and frens got a chance to attend the food tasting review at De Title...

a quite new dining place for Penangites..
located at Lorong Selamat...
a PURPLE house just opposite the Ice Kacang Kopi Tiam....
will defintiely catch ur eyes when you drive along this road...this was one of the purpose the owner purposely painted this double-storeys-house with such unique and striking colour....

A Fusion Restaurant that owned by 2 young ladies...
2 best friends, Janice & Ean, known each other since kindy... studied overseas together... worked and travelled around several places in Europe during the last 8 years...

with their passion, decided to set up a dining place, created their own recipe...
based on their experiences gained during the 100 mths they stayed far away from their hometown...
purpose just to share their happiness and memories with ppl back home~ :)

Janice was a graphic designer... thus, every single area in their restaurant was "homemade / handmade " by both of them...

the Bar at the back~

This small room on upper floor….
Mainly for function / group event…
Can definitely cater more than 20 pax~

Speech from Vin, the creator of Qyzzy to kick start the event…

He was trying to introduce us what’s bout Qyzzy…bring us through the set up, and planning etc…

his partners…
from the left, Lao Yee (finance) & Terry (marketing) on the right corner…

each of us being distributed this mini lucky draw card…

FOC lunch session + freebies… not so bad afterall.. :P

more than 20 bloggers attending the event in that afternoon…

(** meh meh is attending too ! ^^)

starter of the day…
Mushroom soup with crouton
Mixed of 2 types of mushroom…
Not the wild-mushroom-type, not the super-creamy-type…
Overall tasted good…
Despite the bit-over-burned-crouton which is kinda hard

they prepared in a pot for us… We helped ourselves for as much as we want… *free-flow~ :P

Chicken Ham Pizzailo…with Chicken Ham, Pineapple & sweet corns…

they not using the normal pizza dough but pastry instead…the tomato based tasted good.. wouldn’t be too sour….they served with a cutter.. so the customer can cut wutever sized they like…

Alla Alfredo rm 10.90

Cheese Baked Fusilli Pasta cooked with Tomato Concasse

the portion is just nice for 1 pax…

Aglio Olio
Spagetti with mushroom, basil leave, chilli flakes + Olive oil…

A bit dry for my liking… Not much flavor of garlic as the normal Olio should taste like…

Stir Fry Chilli Flakes Yaki Udon with Shrimps, Chicken, Mushroom , Cabbage and Onions…

it won’t be super spicy.. but for those that hates spicy foods won’t like this…

Riso Verbo Pollo alla Carbonara…Cheese Baked Rice with Roasted Chicken, Creamy Sauce

Eve called it “ Kim Gary “ portion fits for 1 pax

the Chicken Menu…
There are choices of Grilled Chicken or Crunchy Chicken
Can mix with either Boil Rice ( rm 13.90 ) /
Mashed Potato / Chips ( rm 14.90 ) /
Or add on golden egg with rm 1.00 extra

Choices of sauce such as: -
Butter Garlic / Creamy Mushroom / Oriental Sauce / Spicy BBQ / Teriyaki
Crunchy Chicken with Spicy BBQ Sauce + Mashed Potatoes

Grilled Chicken with Black Pepper / Spicy BBQ Sauce

the crunchy chicken is good with not oily…
Side salads made by cabbage, carrots plus some random thousand island dressing…Bit of shallots on top…

the Homemade Mashed Potatoes is more on milky side…it’s smooth and creamy

Grilled Chicken with Oriental Sauce

Fish Menu
Choices of Grilled Fish Fillet or Deep Fried Fish fillet
Varieties of sauces to go with
Black Pepper / Cheesey / Teriyaki / Onion Gravy / Tomyam

Deep Fried Dory Fish Fillet with mashed potatoes and side salad

like the freshness of the fish fillet

Grilled Dory Fish with Teriyaki Sauce

so far, I reckon the tom yam sauce is quite special.. taste more like green chilli sambal..
It’s hot… as I just had a bite of it, I’m not sure if it would taste as good if we have the whole fish with that spicy sauce…
Garlic Butter is kinda salty for me…And the rest.. normal and acceptable

Come to the end…
We got the chance to try the “Devil meets Angel” dessert…

It is not on the menu yet..

we’re proud to be the first few one to try out the first launching…

this is when Devil meets Angel...
to eat the hot hot melted chocolate with the cold cold vanilla ice-cream

the owner showed us the actual size of per order VS our giant size for group ( ** it needs to be pre-ordered )

Qyzzy invited us to sign up an account at the page and post a review immediately~

so efficient~ :)

** behind-the-scene

everyone is just so co-operated.. helping each other to snap the best piece

Introduction of the owners.. Janice & Ean

Some Q&A session~

A group pic of Qyzzy + De Title to end the beautiful afternoon~
