Annabelle's Place, Tanjung Bungah

Jan' 09
Frens & I always discussed bout Annabelle Place after discovered this restaurant at some food blogs.. but none of us has ever tried it before...
stewpig brought me there for couple times, but it always closed! =.=
and we now known they close on every Monday !

this Saturday, we didn't join my family for lunch but decided to give it a go...
I was so wanted to try their homemade Scone with strawberry jam & cream... as I missed the one I had at Mt Dandenong, Melbourne so much... neva eat it again after that trip... :(
unfortunately, it was not available that time !! oh my.. the shop-owner, Annabelle told me.. they used to have it everyday... even before tea-time, just Today, Don't Have !! she asked if I could stay for further couple hrs... she tried to hurry her fren to send em over...

since my first browse on the menu, I was interested with their homemade Baked Peach Cheese Cake....
so eager to order it, and it happened to be sold out too !! how unlucky was I ..? *sob

at last, stewpig ordered the baked cheese crab and a tiramisu for sharing...

Iced-water..

Rose Tea with honey for myself... free-refilling...

Baked Cheese Crab... stewpig is Okay satisfied with it... I hate crab... can't even take the smell of it... it's disgusting for me... but I think this dish is good for crab-lovers...
no doubt their homemade Hashbrown are fantastic !!
so fresh.. so Yummie..
I will throw a double-thumbs up for it !!

Tiramisu.. this is nice too...

the scones were not ready still when we settled our bill... the owner told me perhaps could ring them for some advanced-ordering for our next visit..
she felt sorry for me...
I asked if all the pastries are prepared by her... she said yeah... just sometimes when she is really busy, she will appoint her frens to prepare for her... like the scones and some cakes...
Just the Tiramisu & Baked Peach CheeseCake, she insists to make herself... as she wants to keep the recipe for herself... no wonder the tiramisu is so yummie..
after the conversation with her, it made me even more eager to try the Baked Peach C.cake... I guess it would be very delicious... *winks

Charity during CNY' 09~

Je je & frens decided to do something meaningful on this CNY...
nothing is meaningful than duin Charity !!
we shared out some funds and let je je to be the leader to organize it...
Je je managed to get a list from her colleague for those Old Folks Home or associations and etc that needed the help.. and we allocate the funds to them accordingly..

je je gave a call to each of them in the list, to understand their situation and asked what is needed...
we prefer to buy them something necessary instead of just donate $ to them...

at the end of the day, we managed to accumulate around RM 3K... It is a gud result... and we plan to do it every 6 mths from now...
there're a lot of un-fortuned people really need help from us...

Here are some photos I took when I followed je je to 'distribute' the $ and stuffies...

among all the organizations, we all reckon the old folks home located in Sg Ara area... is the most kesian one...
there was a rich man donated out the place to them, and they just got some containers built up as a 'Room' for the old folks to stay...
the place was quite far and needs to gone through some lorong in order to reach the place, thus not many ppl has heard bout it...

see the containers... they all live in the boxes..

their dining tables look more like conference meeting...
the worst thing is... the old folks home situated right opposite the Rubbish Terminus !! =.=""
at first, we were wondering how come they would require us to buy em some 'Flies-swatters'.. after seeing their surrounding... we got the answer...
we could see from their notice board, they're now actually collecting fund to buy 2 new vans... in order to fetch the uncles & aunties to hospital for consultation...

This Cerebral Palsy required for a
"prosthethic limbs"...
when we got in to their office, we can see they'ce received a lot of foods and toys donation.. but actually the things that they need the most is the 'limbs' or med...
the person-in-charge told us.. sometime they received too many 'grains', they couldn't finish them by the expiry date, yet it's no good to keep em for too long...
they consider to sell them and get the $ to buy some other stuff, but people will misunderstand them negatively...
so.. it's gud to call up and ask before proceeding for the donation !!

DELL sponsored the leanring center !!

This Cheshire home located nearby General Hospital...
they required a Specialmade-Wheel-Chair from us... which costed double to triple the price of normal wheel-chair...
one of the lady has broken her old wheel-chair and was sharing a wheel-chair with her fren..
she couldn't afford to buy a new one...

we met a teacher bringing his student for a tour at the Cheshire Home.. it's gud for the kids to see and understand the life of those un-fortuned ppl.. they need to learn how to appreciate!

David Brown, Penang Hill.. Happee Valentine's day~

14th Feb' 09...

I guess this was the mah first tym spending Valentine's day with mah valentine~ ^^
all da while, I used to emphasize that valentine's day is never meant only for lover, but family and frens as well...
I enjoyed celebrate this sweet-day with my soul mates... girls nite, girls talk, all nite long..
as time passed, buddies around started involve into relationship... had been couple of years I celebrated this day with my beloved familie.. all due to mah sisters-sisters sekalian busy hanging out with their other half.. or out of town... =.=

even so... I didn't really expect much on this day...
people used to say, everyday is Valentine's day as long as it is spent with your love one...
and I do agree with this philosophy...
this is just a day dat provided couple chances for gift exchange~ a boom to stimulate the market,
and a chance for the restaurants owners to 'kill' couples' wallets...

since it was the first valentine's day with stewpig.. I did look forward to it... not for surprises, just da day, da moment itself...
but still din expect any special event to happen at times... as rily no idea wut to do...

stewpig successfully made me down by kept pretending to neglect this day... and made me believe he didn't plan anything ahead...
I didn't get mad.. but turned up very out of mood and so not wanted to celebrate it... as I hate all last-minute-plan...

honestly, I really tot of staying home watch dvds/ astro with family and him... no point to simply get a restaurant and pay extra $ for dinner...

he forced me to get dressed and insisted to go out somewhere for dinner...
initially, this was totally out of my willingness... as I'd already eaten at home...

by da time we got ourselves on da road already 8ish.. everywhere was so jam~
he suggested to go Bt Feringghi.. my fav spot in Pg...
I just kept trying to presuade him not to... reason being I was not hungry at all yet the traffic was crazie...
he suddenly drove to Botanical Garden and said sumone was gonna pass him sumthing..
we parked there and waited for more den half an hr.. when I started getting frustrated.. he asked me to go down the car.. we walked to the guard house, and I noticed there were some more couples gathered there...
and now only I known wut was happening~!
he had planned a valentine's dinner at David Brown !!! I was delighted~

everything was supposed to turn out nicely and romatically...
the terrible part was their management.. he made reservation for da 2nd session, dinner supposed to start at 9pm - 11pm..
but their four-wheels only came down to pick us at 915...
when we got up there, all the tables were occupied.. the 1st session ain't finished yet !!
incredibly, we got served the main course at 1130pm !!
thanks god they have a great environment with beautiful sceneries... orelse I'm sure the customers will surely go insane and screw them up... I think the icy cold weather does help out a lot !
no doubt the foods are nice.. just bcuz we'd waited for too long, lost our appetite...
we had difficulty to finish our pricey foods...

Prawn Cocktail w side salad as appetizer...

it stopped for a while after serving the appetizer... the arrangement and services was a mess after all !

the mushroom soup is actually very nice... thick and creamy ,
could taste a lot of little pieces of mushrooms...
but it was bit cold when it served.. so wasted...
Rack of Lamb...
knowing that they're famous at their Grill foods...
this lamb proved them right...
the meats were well-flavoured.. the grilling just nice.. medium done.. which made the lamb so tender and juicy...

Grilled Salmon Steak
the fish is fresh !

Dessert: Strawberries with Choc dip~

they offer a number of imported beers... we didn't order any of them, as the set dinner comes with glass of house pour...

we ended up became the last customers.. as we were having fun, taking lotsa photos with the breath-taking sceneries...
tho we don't have the tripod... but we still made it with the uncle timer and mr table~ ^^

eventhough the services have upset us a lot.. but we still plan to have a second visit..
as the sceneries and atmosphere have certainly attacted us..
thanks bie..
happee Valentine's day~ :)

Been passing by this cafe for years... always have a thought that ' it can survive for so long, must have some reasons... '  wa...
