Love & Bites Fusion Cuisine

Another newly opened restaurant in the heart of Georgetown...

Located at Nagore Road, between La Mei Zi & Pik Nik... We have the nice ambience eat-out place selling fusion foods...

Today is the 1st day opening ( 29th July' 2012 )... Soft launching to test run... But we already saw numbers of customers walking in... Some knowing from Facebook... Some are just walk-in of random passer-by...
Running by the owners of Chan Brothers... Needless to explain much, famous enough in Penang...

medium space with nice ambiance
specially like the built-in-sofa... lazy person like me... always will grab it before anyone occupied... hehe...
the house playing mostly relaxing Jazz Oldies...
and I love...   :)

walk in further, there are second part of the restaurant which is totally different concept from the front...
I kinda love the concept... the furniture is unique...
but, it gonna slightly hotter if sitting inside here...

They're selling Fusion Cuisine, as the shop's name tells...
from Snacks to Appetizer, Main, Desserts, Beverages, quite a long list of varieties...

they selling several types of Homemade Quiches
I so can't wait to re-visit and try out their Quiches...
I just Love it~~~

they don't have much choices for Coffee... only Mocha / Tiramisu and one-more-which-I-can't-recall...
but few types of special Tea...

I had Aloe Vera Tea, served in Hot / Cold...
get to eat the little pieces of Aloe...
slight sweet but not too sweet... I like it...  :)

I so love it's Heart-handle...~

fren of mine highly recommended their Yogurt Drinks...
and no doubt...
I give them a double-thumbs-up...

it won't be too sweet but just nice...
there's a special one - Mint Yogurt...
I'm not a Mint-person, but I reckon it sounds quite special... heard actually not bad...

Strawberry Yogurt
Papaya Yogurt
Vege & fruits Salad with Pecan Nuts...

 I heart it's heart-shaped-salad-bowl...
so wanted to bring home...
my fren told me, they have lips-shaped-bowl sumore ~!!

Chicken Schnitzel with Japanese Mashed Potatoes and Side Salad in Balsamic Sauce
it's something very different from all the Chic Schnitzel I usually found in Aussie...
used to be big piece of deep fried breaded boneless chicken, cheese melted on top filled with tomato paste + ham slices in between...

on the menu, Chicken or Pork available for your choice...
they served as picture shown, 4 big slices instead...
I supposed they mixed chopped chicken with extra ingredient like herbs, peas / potato maybe and reshape it  before deep fried...
something special from the house apart from the tradition..
it reminds me of Falafel... I believe they might share similar recipe / ingredients   :)

overall, I found it quite nice and speical...
portion might not be fulfilling enough for guy as Main.. but good as a sharing portion among frens...  :)

Vietnamese Paper Rolls
Vietnamese Rice Paper Wrap with Thai Basil, Black Fungus, Cucumber, Pickle Papaya and Shrimp served with Vietnamese Hot Dips and Side salad...
the dipping sauce tastes like Thai Chilli Sauce...

I would suggest those that cant take the aroma of Basil better don't go for it...
like my fren, ordered then reckon it got the Basil leaves that he hates so much...
left the whole plate for us to finish it !

Overall, it's nice and pretty in serving too   :)
so lovely and effort, they even provide small stalk of Lemon Grass to 'spoon' the sauce so too add on more flavor for the dish... *marks added   :)

as mentioned above, they served a varieties of Homemade Quiches...
can pick from the fridge near the counter...  :)

they imported this Japanese Bottled Beer, selling at rm 20++ per bottle...
I yet try out, but heard the feedback is quite not bad...
and not available in most places here in Penang...
shall try out...

funny tiger.. I tot it's a cat !!

Shop named as Love & Bites, you can see a lot of Cupids / Angels deco around the restaurant..

will definitely re-visit for more foods...

42°La bohéme penang

Last weekend, I dragged stewpig to go "cafe-hopping"wif me again...
hehe
there's another new heritage cafe in town...
situated at Sri Bahari Road, opposite Feng Wei Restaurant, further down from The Ship...

it doesn't have a big sign board up to attract the passer-by...
looks exactly like a normal house dat alwiz-forgot-to-shut-da-gate...
walk up closer, you'll see a Small sign board written " 42 La Boheme " and it's the Name of this French Caffe !!!  ^^

So happee to found this simple caffe that selling French Patisserie ~~~
the lady boss, Huvi met the French Pastry Chef, Matthieu, during the holidays to India and here started the love stories~  :)
Matthieu learnt bakery since the age of 12...
being the Pastry Chef in UK, France, Italy and etc before...
experienced enough for them to kick start this little caffe to provide chances for Penangites to enjoy yummie French Patisserie and affordable rates !!!
* hop-hop-hop-jump~

simple deco, with some antique furniture to maintain the heritage building...
not air-conditioned but fans...
it's not hot in there due to wide space and tall ceiling like the old Penang houses used to have !

creative beverages menu that printed on Recycle-brown-bag~
** GO GREEN **

Brewed Coffee is not available but only the normal Black Coffee...
varieties of teas are availble...
Refer on the wall-board, Fresh Fruit juices and Iced Lemon Tea selling at rm 6

varieties of Pastries are available daily !!!!
they taste as nice as how they looked !
price range around rm 6 - rm 10
I can say the pastries here definitely tastier than those serving in E&O High Tea session !
can beat the standard of desserts in Delicious !
( but their availability are different... so no compete ! )

despite the cold desserts, they bake nice bread daily...
Almond / Chocolate/ normal Croissants, Cinnamon Roll, Sultana Roll, Chocolate Roll and etc...
price range:- RM 5 - 6

I so wanted to try !!! sultana and crossaint always my favourite ( i know i got too much of fav foods.. i just a foods lover ! but i can hardly resist breads !!! )
I will go back for this !!!!  :D

the varieties of beverages not much...
I had Apple Flower Tea, RM 8 and stewpig had Earl Grey, Rm 6
served in pot, I'm not sure if they allowed for refill...

I was there for a piece of sweet dessert during Tea...
but when I saw "Quiches" written on the board !
I just hmmmm... yes it's also mah fav... with one of my old fren since college time !

I TRIED not to order...
as i know stewpig wont help me eat this ! but when it served to table next to us...
i just can't say no to the nice out-from-oven-smell !!!!

Fruits Tart - Strawberries and Blueberries

Stewpig and I love this too !!! when we were so hesitated and struggled to pick Only One dessert from the list... we spotted this beautiful berries...
without 2nd thought, stewpig said... go for this ! hehehe
there were some more with other fruits (eg, kiwi/ peaches)
the custard filling tasted just nice, won't be too sweet.. and the crust are well done as well !

High Tea Experience at E&O

been hearing the high tea at E&O for long time...

never get the chance or 'excuse' to spend that $ on random day...

few mths backed... in January' 2011..

when Jess came back frm Singapore...

we had a quick catch up there...

RM 48 ++ per pax for

range of fruits tea for selection...

sandwiches, scones, cakes and pastries...

I had the Sweet Berries Tea which I love alot !!

they served in a pot...

each a tea pot ~ :)

stewpig had Mint & Fresh...

helps a lot for sneezing day~~ :)

the selection of tea is the highlight for the whole session...

so wanted to buy the tea packets home...

to be franked, the pastries ain't really impressive.... :'(

Sandwiches of the day

- smoked Salmon + cream cheese

- turkey bacon + pickles

- zucchini (vegetarian)

comment: normal white & wholemeal breads... tho ingredients okay... but the breads that they are using kinda disappointing...

Butter & Strawberry Jam for Scones

Comment: bit dry and hard compared to the home made Scones from David Brown...

Variesties of Cakes, cookies and pastries...

overall is okay but not so impressive...

like the Fruits Tart ^^

the amount paid is to buy the atmosphere and environment for a gathering on a beautiful afternoon...

afterall, we still have a good time there.... ^^

this is the Tea that they're serving...

can't remmeber how much selling per box...

really recommended !

ouor beloved fren backed to Singapore on that evening ~ :)
