Newly Opened Pizza Station @ Sg Dua

Last Saturday, 22nd Oct' 2012…
My soulmate's hubby 1st Pizza Shop has finally opened !!!!
Pizza Station Located at Sg Dua, Yellow House that nearby USM
Strategic location to target Uni students and also delivery orders to Industrial Zone….

Been listening to their planning, implementation for several months…
Am so happee for this lovely couples ~~~

As the Grand Opening will be on 30th Oct' 2012, Sunday which I might not be around…
Thus, I brought few frens to visit his shop on yesterday lunch…

Surprisingly, the business was overwhelmed during the 1st week…
Customers flow is really good and non-stop since 11am…

To celebrate the opening, there's Buy 1 Free 1 Promo for Regular and Large Pizza till end of November' 2012 ~~~ hooray~

Besides Pizza, pasta, soup and finger snacks such as Chic Wings, Garlic Twist are available too~

We ordered a Combo Set of 1 Large Pizza with 4 Garlic Twist, 2 Soup + 1 Jug of Iced Lemon Tea
Plus
2 Regular Pizza (buy 1 free 1)
For sharing of FIVE ~

The pizza dough is order-to-make…
I don't really like those ready-made pizza crust… so credit added for this one ~

Since it's just the 3rd day from the shop opening…
They're facing staff shortage problem…
Reuben was so busy from rolling the dough, making the crust, putting ingredients, baking, cutting…
Luckily his good bro and frens were helping out for order-taking and serving~

The waiting time is worthy afterall…
As the pizzas are really Y-U-M-M-I-E !!!
Put aside the fact of this-is-my-best-fren-hubby-shop, the Pizza is really NICE !!!
All of us agreed !
The order-to-make-crust tells the diff…
It's so crunchy~
We tried the thin-crust and original crust… it crunched a bit as you bit into it, with minimal cardboard factor…
I never interested in a chewy, bready, or deep dish type crust…

Jug of Iced Lemon Tea from the Combo Set

Wild Mushroom Soup
it's very tasty...
It’s not the creamy-Campbell-type, but Wild Mushroom Soup…

If it could be thicker den would be really great !!

thumbs-up Garlic Twist !!

The highly recommended BBQ Chicken Bonanza – Original Crust by fren
No doubt, it’s one of the best-seller !

Ingredients – Chunky Chicken, Pineapple, Chopped Red Onion, Special BBQ Sauce & Mozzarella Cheese
The BBQ sauce sweetened the pizza based…

All of us kept ummmm… hmmmm… ummmm… hmmmm… while eating it !

Hawaiian Temptation – Thin Crust
Ingredients:- Chicken Ham, Pineapple, Mozzarella Cheese

My fav fav is this Flaming Tropical Seafood – thin crust

Ingredients:- Tuna, Crabmeat, Pineapple, Onion, Green Pepper, Mayo, Hot Flaming Sauce and Mozzarella Cheese
Eve who couldn’t take spicy food, gave up this after taken a bite…
But me the spicy foods lover, love it to bits ! it’s not really spicy… but slightly hot…

all the pizza are very juicy and crunchy on the based..
we all very satisfied with the lunch and will defintiely go back again very soon !!!!

xoxo~

banned Foong Yuen a.k.a. Teen Wui's farewell

today will be the L-A-S-T D-A-Y mr teen wui a.k.a. huan cum lao-pek for kimmie working in Dell...
we had a farewell lunch with him...
Was planned to go Batu Maung for seafood ( the shop moved from perikanan ) our fav spot...
but we ended up went to Foong Yean nearby Jalan Tengah...

since my 1st visit to there...
They auntiez-uncles there created a very bad impression to me...
they're rude... they rushed customer to simply place order...
they're never willing to let you read their menu, insisted to intro you their Home Signatures and expect you to order them...
IF you don't want.. they will keep persuading you to order too...
remember during my 1st visit.. there were only 1 of my female colleague and I...
they expected both of us to order their famous Claypot Indo Prawn and Seafood, Mushroom and blah Claypot...
firstly, I don't eat seafood...
secondly, do they expect both of us able to finish all the claypots thingies?

we told the uncle we not going to order this... and asked for menu...
after 4 requests, only willing to show us the menu with unwillingness... (* hey guys.. anything wrong to read thru the menu before placing orders ?? weirdo )
and they won't give you time to read and decide... again asked... 'what to order? '
when he noticed we got no idea.. again he pushed us to order the Claypots AGAIN !
we were like having a war but in facts it's only a simple ordering process...

no doubt, their foods taste nice and it served promptly....
few minutes after you placed orders, the foods would be served...

I happened to go there 2 more times after the 1st experience... and the Indo Prawn is really tasti... (the curry is nice)
but every once I dine-in there, I definitely must suffer the bad services from the fellow waiters and waitress...

this round... I've got to the max... and all of us WILL NOT go there ANYMORE...
Let see what we ate today...
Chef recommended Tofu with crabmeat chowder gravy and baby Pak Choy at side..
the tofu is soft and smooth...
the Yam Nest with Seafood and Veggie inside...
I would not recommend this.. I've tried this dish in few places before... this I would rate as the least nice 1..
the Yam nest can taste the flour... not much Yam and the outer layer is not crispy enough...
the ingredient inside...
the corn and capsicum are hard like not fully-cooked... the gravy not nice, not really into flavour...
and this bloody dish costs us rm 45.00 !!!!!!!!!!!!
wtf??
三杯鸡
to be honest, I don't think I've ever tried this dish at any place before..
according to my fellow colleague... this is not really taste like how it supposed to be...
it supposed to served in some soup/ gravy based...
should ve able to taste the 'alcohol'...
as you can see there're heaps of Basil Leaves on top of the chic... all we can taste is the strong flavour of the Basil Leaves...
the chicken is tender and soft.. but the gravy is no no...

the nicest still go to this House Signature Claypot Indo Prawn...

the curry is nice.. I rated this nicer than the one from Double Good.. but some prefer Double Good still... (anyway, I only take the curry but not the prawn... :P )
this big claypot of prawn costs RM 40 which we think it's rather acceptable....

Stir-Fry Eggplant and Prawn...

this is nice and recommended...
I bet stewpig would like this to bits... skin off eggplant with prawn...
Honey Spare Ribs...

一品煲 we were told their House Signature is the Seafood Claypot which has sea cucumber and stuff...
but this is only the various Mushroom, mostly Chinese Mushroom, chinese white cabbage, not much of dried oyster and tiny of Fatt Choy....
the gravy is nice and the mushroom is very soft...
but again it costs us another RM 40.00 !!!
the pissed off story began when I ordered take-away for stewpig...
I asked how would he charged for a Small Indo-Prawn...
the waiter told me Rm 12.00 per portion...
when I asked him how many prawn will they be... he told me he is not sure.. but supposed the portion should be nice for 2-3 pax...
so people will expect at least 6 ?
when it's ready.. I could see the curry not even filled up half of the Rectangle Container...
I opened and see... there're only 4 prawns which sizes are smaller than we just ate minutes ago...
I checked with another lady... for how much is this one... she told me Rm 12...
* I was still polite !
when I asked her...
" i thought the guy told me this rm12 portion is for 2-3 pax.. but how come only 4 ? "
I can't even imagine how little would the curry looks like when pour it out to a claypot... it's like only few scoops.... 1 cm height from the rectangle container...
unexpectedly, the auntie answered me
auntie: " just not you told him it's only for 1 pax... thus, we didn't prepare much...
now what? not enought is it? order another small and combine la... "
I said: " no no... what I meant is how come the RM 12 for 2-3 pax only 4 prawns and with so little of gravy? is it really costs RM 12? "
Auntie: " yes.. cause you said for 1 person ma... now what? as I said... if not enough... you think this is too little... order another small portion and combine la... "
wtf? this time I really pissed d... and yet she kept repeating... even I kept saying.. " nvm.. it's ok... thank you auntie..."
I supposed after I repeared more than 4 times... she only kam buan to walk away...
and the small rice costs me rm 1.20 !!!
bloody hell.. they're too much...
( I supposed take the pics of the take-away foods... by the time I remember.. stewpig already finished 80% of them... -_- " )
when they brought over our bill... the total amount is rm 243.90 Not including the take-away...
they dark hot tea and warm water... all the while I thought it's complimentary... as they served once customer sat down.. without asking... but it's charged !!this is the price list for the food itself.. not including the nuts, rice and TEA....
with this amount of $ we can eat-till-vomit at Batu Maung Seafood (Perikanan)...
we can have 2 full table of peoples... eating at least 8 dishes per table.. with fish, prawn, sotong, mantis prawn and etc etc...
therefore,

the left is the rice of Kimmie... and the right is the double size portion for mr Teen Wui Huan Lao Pek...
we will miss you **

DaoRae Korean BBQ Restaurant

Ko Ko noticed this newly opened Korean Restaurant since the 1st week it opened...
finally, we planned out a day and give it a try...

my family favors Korean Cuisine...
we keep searching for any Korean Restaurant which able to beat down our fav 1 in KL...

DaoRae, here we come ~ ^^

luckily, we made a reservation in advanced...
by the time we reached there at 8 ish, we saw a long queue of peoples waiting in and outside the restaurant... *weEee...

we led to a Room at 2nd floor...
I saw a stair to 3rd floor as well.. but not sure if it's for office use...
1st and 2nd floors are decorated with diff concepts..
below here it's the 2nd floor.. with more casual, more family style by sitting on the floor...

As usual, I quickly browsed through the menu...
and placed orders 'on behalf' of everyone... *save time *save energy and of cuz they trust me too... :P

the sources for everyone...
we always claimed that Korean Food uses a lot of dining ware...
imagine, purely the sources, 3 saucers each person,
plus the free-flow side dishes,
BBQ plate and etc etc....
Korean restaurant server ain't a easy job...

豆瓣酱, sesami oil with salt...

right after we placed our orders,
they served us each with a bowl of Korean Seaweed Soup.. free.of.charge
their seaweed is diff with the Japanese type.. but I like it too..
remember my Korean housemates in Aussie told me before, they must drink this soup on their burfday morning!
I couldn't find my pic.. so leave it...
A little bowl of fresh garlic for bbq~
it adds the beautiful aroma for the meats....

Fresh Lettuce to wrap the meats...
initially, Korean Cuisine should be really healthy... as Korean do eat a lot of veggie through out the meal...
but nowadays, many people having wrong mindset saying that Korean Cuisine contains a lot of meat, meat and meat... it sounds so disgusting...
in fact, in Korea, the local eat each little piece of meat wrapping with a big piece of veggie...
us people using the incorrect way, and set the wrong mindset...

their special charcoal, unlike our blackie blackoe type...

my fav part...
he he... free but super yummie side dishes...
Mash potato, Kimchi...
Marinated KimChi, Crispy Glass Noodle ( the white one), big-head bean sprout, Marinated Cucumber and Spinach with sesame seeds...
Surprisingly, the waiter came up with 3 steamed eggs after served the side dishes..
and told us, they're complimentary..
wow cool !!
the steamed egg is so so soft~ ^^

Beef Bulgogi... ( 2 portions )*recommended
Choice thin slices of ribeye marinated with sweet soya sauce...
the spring onion simply made the beef getting tastier...
the 'kitchen fan' ( i dunno wut to call it) is cool and useful,
The extention made it able to pull up and down...
it could really help to adsorb all the smoke and most of the 'smell' away...
eventho we're close with the bbq thingy...
we're not disturbing by the smoke at all...
but of cuz, we still feel 'smelly' while we're out from the restaurant..
of cause, I'm always the healthy one... ^^
A little piece of yummieBeef with a big leaf fresh lettuce...
wrapped and dip with some sauce...
oh my.. heaven ~。~
due to ah yee and linna's parents couldn't take beef, we ordered more porks instead...
Daeji Gal-bi (single portion) *recommended
Choice pork ribs sepcially hand filleted, marinated in special sweet soy sauce
the meats were taken off from pork ribs... served without the 'ribs' only meat...
well-flavoured and really nice...
we ordered for another one after this..
Hanbang Dweji Wang Galbi (2 portions) *recommended
Choice pork ribs specially hand filleted, marinated in special Korean ginseng and herbs extract and sweet soy sauce...
this is very yummie too... but this 1 served with the 'bones, the ribs'
the nice waiter assisted us to cut the big piece of ribs into small pieces...
here are they.... really well flavoured.. and nice !!
Go-chu-jang Sam-kyub-sal
Thin slices of belly port marinated i n Korean traditional chili sauce...
tho it's marinated with chili sauce, but it ain't really hot...
nice in taste too... since it's pork belly apparently the meat would have layers of 'fats'...
but after bbq... the combination is just nice... won't feel any 'oily' but Delicious...
Sam Kei Tang !!
Ginseng Chicken Soup
of cause this is a must-order when having Korean Food...
this is simply Awesome..
this is a lot nicer than Korea Palace...
I never really favor with this.. do drink, do eat, do feel OK... but this I would just Highly Recommend to any potential customers of DaoRae...
the rice is so well-flavoured ( they're some rice stuffed inside the chicken ) and soft..
when we eaten half-way, ah yee reminded me if I've ordered the Korean Pancake for her...
I was like ' oh shit ! I forgot ' :P
just when I wanted to stand up and go out to look for waiter..
2 waiters came in with 3 plates of foods...
guess wut?
they're Pancake !!
We thought they sent to the wrong room, and they just told us, this is
complimentary
as well...
oh no~~~
how delighted was that ?
A big plate ( normal size dining plate ) costs Rm 25 per order...
they gave us 3 of medium sizes, which able to cut into 6 pieces each...
18 in total...
suddenly, a man with the chef attire came in..
and I can recognise him from the pic taken by CK Lam..
he's the CEO of DaoRae..
he just came in to confirm if everything is Okay..
I quickly took a snap of him! :P
another must-order by Koay Family...
Korean Chilli marinated cuttle fish with veggie, served with special noodles...
this is my family no 1 fav dish among Korean Cuisine...
tho I don't eat the cuttle fish.. but I like the chilli paste and veggie so much !!
some restaurants offered Octopus instead of cuttle fish..
DaoRae does have both, but the octopus served without noodles.. that's why we go for this..
this special noodles are very soft and nice...
my family members always 'fight' for it.. the noodles will disappear within second once the plate touched the table... left all the seafood and veggies for those who-are-'slower'...
KimChi Hot Pot (large, rm 70)
thought there're a lot more varieties of hot pot..
like seafood, sausage and etc...
I will sure go for Kimchi no matter how...
it comes with Korean instant noodles, white cabbage, carrots, cucumber, radish, onion, porks, and etc etc.....
the kimchi soup is SO NICE !!
again, this is nicer than Korea Palace !!!
the hot pot placed right in front of me... hence, I couldn't stop drinking the soup !!
ko ko wanted to order some Korean Wine...
and the waiter recommended the Plum Wine...
I tried once in a Japanese Rest which is bigger bottle and diff brand... when I was in Aussie..
I reckon they both tasted slightly different too...
but it's nice..
rm 25 per bottle
the son f-o-r-c-i-n-g the mum to drink !
another free stuff...Watermelon... ^^
to end our deluxe-meals

our table...
the uncountable plates and bowls..
shame to say that this is dunno the how-many-rounds of clearing and refilling d...
by the time we settled the bill already 10 ish... most of the customers have left...
no more crowded like before...
this is the 1st floor...

the CEO a.k.a. Chef suddenly came towards us and required to take a photo with ME
*weEeee... he he
our total bill of the nite is rm 595 +
no doubt their foods are a bit pricey compared to others..
but they are delicious indeed..
and the most important thingy for me is their services..
they hired mostly foreigner staffs...
the one serving us ( the photo on top ) is from Nepal..
they speaks not-bad-English..
and polite enough to become a pro-waiter...
they're so much attentive... they filled up our dishes/ drinks before we asking for...
and they one served us is good looking too~~ he he
I will go back !!
There will be another outlet in Penang, located in Queensbay Mall...
opening soon... let's see

Trois Canon Cafe @ Chulia Street

Been passing by this cafe for years... always have a thought that ' it can survive for so long, must have some reasons... '  wa...
