La France Cafe & Restaurant

La France Food stall previously based in Northam Beach Cafe since 2007 has officially 'transformed' to a Restaurant located behind Northam Tower beginning of September...
* congrats to them !

went for lunch with Jes & Mung 3 weeks backed...
was looking forward to try out the Omelette...
when we browsed at their Lunch Menu only we got to know there are TWO types of menu...
*thunderstorm inside   T_T

the Menu Dejeuner (lunch from 12.00 noon onwards) and
Menu Diner (dinner from 6.00pm onwards)

those available in the Lunch Menu, basically the Panini thingy and crepes...

it just right opposite El Casa Restaurant at Jalan Irrawady

allowed customer to Bring Your Own Wine !

the interior is simple...
not the cosy cosy with sofa type..
besides the tables near the bar, there are tables in a room, or at the back with fan and not air-conditioned or high stool + table at outside...

we were the first customer to reach at 12.00pm sharp

Soup of the day - Mushroom Soup , rm 5.90
won't be to milky or creamy, and nice afterall...

Ham & Cheese Croissant

Yogurt Chicken Croissant served with home recipe thinly sliced sauteed potatoes and side salad , rm 10.90

I super like this..
the croissant itself was baked nicely, soft but with crunchy surface...
chicken diced cooked with chopped onion, yogurt cream sauce and cheese on top - Amazing !
and I so in love with the sauteed potatoes !! yum !

Chicken and Cheese Ciabatta with extra Egg on top
the open-ciabatta served in lunch menu is only half...
Mung who hates Ham tot the 'chicken & cheese' is really the pieces of chicken...
who knows, it turned out the chiken Ham as shown...
thus, I gotta change my yogurt chicken to her !

***************************
last nite, we went again for Louise's burfday dinner...
the Dinner Menu comes in longer list...
totally different with Lunch Menu...

Savoury Crepes - Crepes Aux Saumons (Smoked Salmon) , rm 13.90
the smoked salmon been cooked with capsicum, cream and cheese...
the crepes itself is very nice !
it's really yum, but portion might consider too small for a guy...

Toasted Ciabatta - Tuna & Cheese , rm 10.80
the filling is not very much, Tuna with chopped onion, mayonaise, tomatoes and cheese...
but overall the ciabatta is nice...
the bread itself is fresh and toasted nicely...

Omelette with Ham and Cheese served with Handcut Cheese and Side Salads , rm 10.50

no doubt, the omelette is really yummmmm
you can smell the beautiful aroma of the Egg and Chips at the moment the dish served to your table...
the ham were chopped into small pieces and the filled with cheese !

(*the chef uses blue cheese as one of the ingredients to prepare all the cheese dishes)

Omelette with Onion and Cheese , rm 9.50

initially, Mung was ordering Omelette with mushroom and added extra cheese ( +rm1.00 Only)...
unfortunately, the mushroom were out of stock after the boss checked out the whole kitchen...
since she doesn't take ham nor bacon... she goes for Only cheese and requested to add some onion for better taste !

it turned out good as expected...
the cheese is rich !

hand cut chips...
very nice and goes really well with their home recipe Tar Tar Sauce

they use Extra Virgin Olive Oil for our Pasta & Dressing and keep the original Taste of the ingredients, no MSG added!
which i love... I gonna try out their pasta next round !

the foods overall are ok with reasonable price...
but we were not really happee with their services...
not attentive enough and not frenly...
when the clock ticks 10pm, they seemed to hint us leave the shop...

when we asked waiter A to help us take a group pic, he just looked at waiter B and said "I don't take pic for others."

the place is cosy...
i always like colourful stuff...
colours make ppl happee ~~~  *weEeeee

foods menu is kinda limited at this stage..
since it's just 1 week old.. I believe they would have more and more in the future...
tho the varieties of foods are not more than 10...
but ALL ARE YUMMY !!

whereas beverage menu has room to improve...  hmmm...

the colourful wall with creative painting were hand drawn by my talented fren !!!!

they decorated every single corner of the shop...
painting, antique, diy stuff ~

MENU in creative ways to attract customer's attention...

I spotted kimmie fav ROBOT !!!

we were sitting at this cosy corner with glass door looking at the road at first !!!
there were normal dining tables and chairs in another side for proper dinner...
but I just like cushions, colourful, small tables and mini tools !
I don't mind to eat in improper manners...   hehe

the burfday lady !

with her lOve !

later on we moved to a bigger space...
as ppl keep coming !
still maintain the cushion and mini tables + tools ! hehe

Freshly Squeeze Orange Juice (OJ), rm 6.00

Strawberry Smoothies, rm 9.00
I need to say that the smoothies is not rily smooth, it's more to Ice Blended Drinks...
Cappucino , rm 6.50

ah Kim's SALMON WAFFLE with Side Salads ,  rm 12

I super love it !!!
the squarish waffle tasted so nice, in term of taste, smell and texture - good
topped with scramble eggs, chopped bacon, and pieces of smoked salmon + black pepper and squeeze of mayo to enhance the tasty !
side salad - big piece of green, cheery tomatoes, piece of apple

the portion aint very big... might consider small for a guy.. but good for me !

Garlic Fried Rice with egg on top , rm 7
another delicious dish...
I love the garlic flakes like teppanyaki style...
the taste is good despite the rice a bit stiky on that day..

Salmon Roll with side salads , rm 14
Salmon slices, Aparagus and cheese stuffed inside the pastry
taste not strong but just good and tasted healthy ~
we love the pastry layer which is perfectly baked

Bolognese Cheese Baked (Chicken),  rm13
the tomato based sauce is delicious, overall a nice dish too !!

Beef Golash Cheese Baked, rm 13
this is bit so so for us...
it was the first time I tried Beef Golash... no idea how the taste should turn to be...
we felt a bit 'bitter' for the after taste...

Homemade Cheese Cake with Strawberry, rm 6
nice.. small piece - great choice for dessert after meal !
