747 Cafe, YMCA Builing~~

747 Cafe, inside YMCA Building...
used to be mah all-tym-favourite since small...

it's still my favourite...
but no idea why.. my family just seldom go there anymore...
perhaps because there are too much choices out there~~

this blog was pending in my back log since last yr...
we went there for lunch with je's frens after the "International-Horse-Day" last year...

I was so happee.. as I really like all the foods there...
no doubt, they are still so so yummeh afterall...

the must-order-foods-list... (for mah family la of cuz)

Belacan Fried Chicken

Stir Fry Sambal Kangkung

Signature Bean Curd

i'm not sure if it's homemade tau hoo...
it's cooked with minced pork, chopped chinese mushroom and heaps of shallots..

due to this visit was in last year..
I can't recall what is this dish d...

something like.. Sweet and Sour Pork Ribs...

I supposed this was the first time trying this dish..
it's utterly delicious !!
the pork ribs are so tender and well-flavoured...

Onion Omelette

Hainanese Homemade Spring Roll

Signature Curry Fish Head

their curry is always tasted so Good !!
with heaps of 'laksa-flower' to add on the tasty level...

guess this fish was a very stubborn one when he/ she still alive !

the foods here are delicious for sure and prices are reasonable...
little restaurant with air-conditional which is the most important point when the weather is so crazily hot recently...
very nice makan place with family ~ :)

Venue: Ground Floor Of Y.M.C.A Building
211-B, MACALISTER Road, Penang.

Farewell with Zoe at Batik Nyonya Cafe, New World Park

In my previous post, I mentioned we had a farewell lunch at Khuntai for Zoe with my family...
a week before that, we actually went for a farewell dinner with the girls...

we made it at Batik Nyonya Cafe, New World Park...

I quite looked forward to try out this Nyonya Restaurant since it has opened for few months...
I supposed they really spent times and ideas on the deco...

sadly to say that, we were kinda disappointed after the dinner...
we don't think we had set any high expectation on the foods..
just not for our liking perhaps...

Nyonya Cuisine always famous with nutmeg drinks...
once we stepped in the restaurant...
I can smell a strong fragrant of Nutmeg.. and I think it's good...
when I was so looking forward to try their traditional nutmeg drinks...
Carene told me... she felt it's rather weird and not nice during her last attempt...

in fact, it's so thick.. but surprisingly, doesn't have the taste that a nutmeg drinks should have...
slightly bitter instead...
I dunno if this is their special home recipe... just not for my liking... :P

Loh Bak

the look not really convincing... the taste.. erm.. OK

Jiu Hoo Char ( Cuttlefish fried Turnip )

Belacan Fried Chicken

Assam Prawn

Chicken Kapitan

Hainanese Spring Roll

it looks bit different from what I had at other places...
the different pastry they used maybe?

the tastiest dish of the nite~

Sambal Kangkung !!!

Stir Fry Egg and Salumi with Sambal

this was the first time most of us tried this veggie...
not for my liking.. it tasted bitter which I dunno why...
Fanne said those that like this veggie.. caused of the bitter taste... @.@

Ayam Ponteh

Linna kept emphasing...
not to order any fish dish...
as she had a bad experience at here before...
however, we still ordered this Nyonya Curry Fish for mummy...

the curry is not bad... but fish ain't that fresh....

Carene insisted us to try this Nyonya dessert...
no doubt.. it's really nice...

Pungat...
slightly taste similar like Bor Bor Cha Cha... but this added the flavour of Banana...
nice try~ :)
*thumbs up

a pic before leaving the restaurant

ladies in stripes...

the girls will never talk-enough..
thus, we headed to esplanade for Rojak and la la...
before their babies and hubbies call to chase home... :P

Familie Gathering Dinner at Hainanese Delights, Hotel 1926

last Friday...
we had a 'blind' dinner at Hainanese Delights, Hotel 1926...

one of our cousie wanna buy our kOay-familie a dinner before he leaving back to Ireland...
Duck Soup with Yam

thick and nice...

Hainanese Big Spring Roll (with crabmeat inside)

Stir Fry Aparagus and shrimp with Belacan Sambal

Steamed Fish with soya sauce

Chicken Curry Kapitan

too bad we sùpposed they've overcooked the curry..
as it turned up abit bitter taste.. slightly...
*wasted*
Assam Big Prawn...

koko said very nice !
Stir Fry Tofu with Veggie

Stir-Fry Yellow Noodles with Bee Hoon...

nice to go with Sambal~~ :)

Black Pepper Crabs

all of them very un-satisfied with this..
as the crabs is not fresh at all.. though the boss insisted that it was freshly cooked.. but not dead-crabs...
but the meat just not in gud-nice-piece and taste no good...
Chicken Pie

filling: chicken diced, with boiled eggs, mixed beans and potato.. cooked in white cream sauce...

we all like the pastry layers very much...
I reckon it taste bit like Roti Canai, but crispy 1... more more nicer 1...
the pastry finished in less than 10 mins and left the whole bowl of filling there...
too bad.. we didn't get to try their famous Macaroni Baked..
as that has to order few days in advanced...
free dessert on the house...
Hainanese Specialty...

this is not Roti Babi...
filling is some peanuts crunch and sugar...

the young-gang...
pity the older-gang.. as we didn't take photo for em... :P

the total bill for 3 tables of us...
cost over Rm 1000 ++

I rated this slight expensive... tho we ordered crabs and big prawns...

thanks very muchie to our belOved wei ko ko... :)
we gonna miss you

before leaving...

da LongChamp-gang... taken a pic together to end the nite...

International Horse Day cum lunch at 747, YMCA

back to 2 weeks ago... (Penang Gabenor Birthday)
it was the International Horse Day in Penang...
my family and I were looking forward to months.. and couldn't wait to go there for some funs...
we got there at around 11am...
and it was already so crowded... plus the hot-damn-sun...
it's kiling... -_-""

I like this little lady so much..
she is so beautiful and chubby...
the eye lashes are like 10 times of mine.. or may be more...
should be a gorgeous lady 18 yrs later...

and this little monster is wathching the puppet show...

stewpig met his fren...

ice-cream saving us from de-hydrating under the hot sun...

since how long, I never seen this kinda pram? it's cool though !!

and I saw this triplet from ' Man Utd '
I guess the daddy is the big fan of MU... thus, attempt to let his 3 sons become the players of his fav team...

the 'smell' is really a bit 'nan teng'
my tops is not available for me to do like stewpig.. thus I'd have to hold my breathe while walking around there..

the horses are charming..
I took photos of few 'teenage-horse'
they purposely tied-up their ' hair ' or cut it with some pattern...

I expected too much, thought gonna spend the whole day at there...
I never known that I can no longer stand under the hot sun for hrs...
the heat was driving us crazie..
thus, we left at 12 ish...
to grab our lunch... at some where that air-cond is avail...
(*we didn't take breaky... can imagine how starved were we... )

I suggested 747 in YMCA since we had not been there for very very long time d...
the business still good..
foods delicious as it used to be !!
and they served Quick !!
Belachan Fried Chicken...
Crispy but not oily.. *thumbs up
Sambal Kang Kung... which is always mah-fav...

Signature Tofu,
cooked with minced pork, chinese mushroom, ginger and spring onion...
it was the first time we tried this dish..
it's great indeed !!
Stir-fry pork spare ribs in tomato sauce

Onion Omellete

Homemade Hai Nan Spring Roll...

teng teng...
the giant Curry Fish Head...
no wonder the auntie kept on emphasizing to us that the portion of this fish head gonna be very big...
we couldn't 'feel' it until we saw it..
it's really huge !
meat is juicy and fresh !!
the curry is all the while tastes so nice !

this gentleman is trying to 'operate' the fish head...
he attempted to break the center bone of the fish head...
he can consider as a pro-fish-head-'cleaner'...
but the giant fish head still took his long time to 'open'...
pity the innocent-fork...

the wife... using the plastic bag (*pls say NO to plastic !! ) to cover herself up to avoid the curry-dot-design on her clothes..

we off to Gurney after lunch..
while the ladies busy shopping...
stewpig cio my daddy to Sega for a pint of stout..
ME... the poor gal that need to save a bit... chose to follow those uncles for some drinks !!

while the 2 are so busy to 'give-the-speech'
Sam.. the quiet one.. sitting aside and play the listener-role..
ME... the bored 1...
playing my Cam..
the-boring-gal...
can't resist...
went in MNG for a couple mins walk...
and came out with this... -_-
today is CONVERSE day !!! 4Ks go !
